Iron Ox

Iron Ox is a hulking man, as befits his name, and he shows about as much restraint as his namesake too. However, he's more than just a hulking brawler. Iron Ox is a powerful martial artist. He looks the part, keeping his head shaven and sprouting a black beard forked into two points. He often wears a light tunic and baggy trousers, the better to show off his hulking frame.

Iron Ox was once a tax collector, famed for his ability to collect from recalcitrant debtors but he was found guilty of cheating the governor and fled when ordered to go to the capital for judgement. Since then he has been on the run. These days he supports himself by a spot of robbery, a little extortion and some bounty-hunting.

He often travels and works with Poison Adder. The two met years ago when Iron Ox had been severely injured by some imperial soldiers. Poison Adder treated his wounds - either out of an unusual impulse of good will or some premonition, and the two became something like friends. At any rate, they have worked together many times to bring in big bounties or to dispose of an unusally capable enemy of one or the other and have a grudging respect for each other's capabilities.

As he himself will tell you, Iron Ox is not really a bad person. When relaxed, he is quite a personable drinking companion. It's just that he's hot-tempered and a little impulsive - and that's what gets him in trouble. Or so he says. In truth though, Iron Ox is also self-centred and greedy. When he wants something he just takes it - and whoever is in the way is likely to get hurt.
