Kaneko Gohei
Kaneko Gohei is a giant of a man - slightly taller than average,
but broad as an old oak tree. In his late fourties, he is still in
robust health and likes late-night drinking parties as much as in his
youth. In combat, he is a fearsome warrior, armed with his heavy
Tetsubo, but he is no mean swordsman, either and a fierce opponent in
unarmed combat.
However, he is also skilled in the courtly arts and has advised
his lord well both on the battlefield and off. He is fiercely loyal
to the Arai clan, having left his own family to serve Arai Tetsuo
decades ago. In return his skill and wisdom are much respected within
the clan and when he speaks, most retainers hear his words as the
voice of their lord.
Kaneko Gohei has darkly tanned skin, sparkling dark eyes and a
bristling black beard. He dresses well, but not fancily. His armour
is lacquered deep blue with gold lacing and banding, which makes him
stand out in the ranks of the black-clad Arai soldiery
