Chapter 9: Woder!

-----The Dread Pirate sneers at the unfortunate Woder, "Arrr, ye misbegotten offspring of leprous toads, now ye learn again to cross the paths of the Dread Pirate and his crew. Now ye just do as I say and I won't let Sarah roast yer giblets over a low fire tonight. Real careful-like, keep yer hands stickin straight out and get down on yer knees. From there, ye can move yer left hand straight out in front of ye and get down on yer belly. Now get yer arms stickin straight out as far as they'll reach. If ye don't do as I say, Kaz will shoot arrows into ye until ye decide to cooperate. Now I'm goin to tie ye up and yer goin to answer some questions that've been on me mind lately. If ye got the answers I'm lookin fer, we'll just turn ye over to the authorities. If ye decide not to talk, well, let's just say that the end result will involve you gettin staked out over an anthill with honey slathered on yer nether regions. And that’s just fer starters. Keep in mind that I don't really like you very much Woder and we'll get along just fine."
-----"You will die, maggot. You and all of your friends will not live to see the next night," Woder hisses as he begins to comply with the Dread Pirate’s directions.
-----Gimplefwick carefully sticks his cutlass blade on Woder's prostrate neck, then moves over and quickly kneels on Woder's back. He then sheathes his cutlass and twists one of Woder's arms behind his back, and begins tying up the strange-eyed miscreant.
-----Seth keeps an eye on Woder to make sure he does not pull one of his stunts while the Dread Pirate binds him. Once Dread is finished binding Woder, Seth begins a search of Woder.
-----"Away from me, you sorry excuse for a half-breed," Woder grumbles at Seth. "Before you die, I will personally rid you of your pilfering hands." Seth takes from him a vial containing a liquid. Seth then begins to search the rest of the room for tricks and traps.
-----Raven snarls at Woder and starts walking over towards him, "You dumb, ugly, evil son of a whore. Let’s see you how tough you are after I kick your teeth in. Maybe that will loosen your tongue." Raven pauses, "or maybe I'll just loosen your head from your body."
-----After Woder is securely bound, the Dread Pirate grins and pats him on the cheek, "That's what I like about you Woder, yer unswerving optimism and yer way with words. Now let's get to a couple of my questions before I can stop Raven from coming over here and kicking in yer teeth. First of all, where's that crystal ye were waving around a few minutes ago, afore all yer troops met unfortunate ends? Secondly, who's responsible fer all the violence between the humans and the elves? Thirdly, where are they located? By the way, where's this cave ye were goin to tomorrow?"
-----Noting that Woder is indeed secure, Sol bends down and wipes his blade clean on the scum's cloak. Turning to Dread, he offers, "I saw the moron put the crystal in a silky sack. I'm sure it's on 'im somewhere. Dread, make sure the man gives you some info on Devlin. I want to know where the evil bitch is."
-----Sol slowly resheathes his sword and looks around the place, before walking up to Raven and pulling him aside. The warrior speaks quietly to the hunter.
-----Woder, still lying on his stomach, snickers to himself, barely hiding the sneer on his face. "So many questions there are to answer," the villain muses to the Dread Pirate. "You know it will do you little good. It is already too late to stop the tide of change."
-----Woder rolls his eyes as if bored now with the situation, but an evil smile crosses his face. "But why be difficult?" he continues calmly and then turns his head so he can look up toward Sarah. "It is not as if those we hold most dear to our hearts could be in dire danger, could it?" He gives her a look with those strange dark eyes that seem to look into her.
-----"There is no problem. I could lead you to . . . the cave, but," Woder speaks slowly in deathly tones and then pauses with a smirk, "I do not think you would want to leave."
-----Sol and Raven continue to converse, and certainly Sol seems to be paying no attention to the group's latest prisoner.
-----Seth moves over near Sol and whispers to him, "I think we should gag him, just in case he knows some spells that just require words." With that Seth moves over and shoves some rags into Woder’s mouth.
-----He turns to Sarah. "What did he mean by all that? If you want to question him, I suggest taking the gag out and replacing it after each answer, and the Dread Pirate should wop him on the head, not too hard but enough to break his concentration... often."
-----Thoroughly incensed at Woder's continuing arrogance, the Dread Pirate questions him again, this time adding a thump to Woder's noggin every now and then for emphasis, "Now, what do you mean about us not wanting to leave the cave?"-THUMP-"What can you tell us about Devlin?"-THUMP-"Who else is in on this latest little scheme of yours?"-THUMP-. The Dread Pirate then sighs and looks sadly at his prisoner, "Now Woder, these decent god fearing heroes gathered around you might believe in justice and goodness and all that rot. They probably wouldn't slice off bits of you until you decide to talk. But I think you probably know me well enough by now to know that I'll cheerfully gut ye an leave ye fer the dogs to gnaw on. It wouldn't bother me a bit. Actually, it'd improve me mood tremendously. On the other hand, I can't imagine these heroes lettin me slice ye up too much either. So, I'll leave it up to ye to decide whether or not to talk."
