Type: Insane Droid AI
Roles: Caretaker and Controller of Rameseum M4
Quote: "Oh, did I forget to mention that I depressurized the docking bay? Heh, heh, heh."
Profile: Durandal is the name for the rampant
droid AI that controls ship's operations on board the Rameseum
II and M4. Originally a central dispatcher for a mouse droid colony,
the computer core that became Durandal was picked up by Zolar
when he was looking for ways to save on crew for the Rameseum
II. Dissatisfied with its capabilities, Zolar began adding onto
the system: a Verbobrain here, ship
control alogrithims there, several high-end processors there and
there and there. Without Zolar even really realizing it, the droid
brain became self-aware and named itself Durandal. When Zolar
did find this out, he considered his job complete and installed
Durandal on board the Rameseum II. It was a huge mistake.
Durandal is the Rameseum. His fairly large core occupies a good portion of deck 2, from where he controls the various droids that make make running the M4 less of a headache for Zolar. He is tied into sensors, shields, weapons, life support and drive systems, allowing him to take control of them in a pinch (though at the expense of droid control). He interacts with the crew through text displays, PA systems and a modified hoverdroid named Roland, which has a tendency to sneak up on people.
Being in such control has not done Durandal much good. In fact, he is downright megalomanic. He often disobeys or liberally interprets Zolar's orders, or fails to bring vital information to his attention until it is too late. Durandal's purpose in this, besides to simply be mischevious, is unknown. What is known is that his core has been somehow armed with blaster cannons and an emergency ejection system, without Zolar's knowledge. Durandal often speaks in a sarcastic and condecending manner, and has even given some hints of aspiring godhood. However, he does his job with remarkable effectiveness (most of the time), and his presence has become so integrated with the M4 that it is doubtful that the ship would run as well without him.

Type: Crazed Weequay Fanatic
Roles: Mortal Enemy of Ramses
Quote: "Just as the wheat falls under the scythe, so shall all those of Urrestch'Ramsev fall before the faithful of Quay."
See more detail and stats for Guraquay
Profile: Guraquay (Weequay for "Defender of Quay") is the leader of an extremely orthodox Weequay religious sect that seeks nothing but the total glorification of their god Quay and the total annihalation of his enemies. To this end, the group trains in ancient Weequay martial practices, each member undergoing rigorous training exercises and indoctrination until they believe that they alone will can take down all of Quay's enemies with a single blow. This may be so, for the "Qu'gac Talloni" ("Shadow Talons") are fearsome opponents: wearing frightening masks and fighting with razor wrist claws, they are skilled in wolfpack hand-to-hand combat, slicing their adversaries to pieces with lightning-fast hit and run gang attacks.
Yet none of them are as deadly as Guraquay. Tall and massive, with a single ponytail of knotted black hair reaching to his ankles (highlighted with razor-sharp monofilament), he carries a sword as tall as many humanoids and has personally dedicated himself to the destruction of what he sees as Quay's archnemesis: Urretch'Ramsev, known to the real world as Ramses 3000. It was the "defiling" (conversion) of Quay's ancient temple into the Rameseum that spurred Guraquay into his assault. All "cultists" who are connected to the Weequay demigod are also marked for slaughter, much to the charign of the rest of the crew.
Guraquay is solely dedicated to his cause, with a searching eye that seems to be seeking out one's internal sins. He fights like a whirlwind and then vanishes into the night. He is possibly the only living being who is a match for Ramses in single combat. It is possible that he has even made a pact with the Dark Side, believing it to be Quay's call.
Type: Rebel Special Agent/ Former Cop
Roles: Rebel Criminal Liason for the Rameseum Crew/ Possible romantic interest?
Quote: "We go in fast, go in hard, and while they're still zipping up their flies we'll nail the lot of 'em. I want NO casualties here people, blasters set to stun, and if you've got a problem with that Ramses then I suggest you shove it up your metal ass."
Profile:
Saalia Hans never seems to be very far from criminal activity,
though Torill would argue that she is on the wrong side of it.
She was first seen by the crew heading up the Corporate Sector
Marshals, a semi-independent law enforcement group that was resurrected
by the CSA (under Wumdi's orders) to deal with the threat of the
Crew. However, after an ambush gone wrong, Saalia was forced to
work with the Crew as the jealous and paranoid Imperial occupation
forces betrayed and crushed most of the group for "treason."
After this blow, she turned her back on the authority that tried
to kill her and joined the Rebels, meeting the Crew again when
she led up a strike force to retrieve then-Moff Zolar immediately
before the attack on Brentaal. Since then, she has been assigned
to stay with the group as a New Republic Criminal Liason, a new
(and controversial) group within the NR that seeks to tie itself
to powerful criminal interests to help overthrow the remnants
of the Empire. Though the Crew is a little leery about having
a full-fledged Rebel on board the M4, they can't deny that she
can help the out of many a sticky situation.
Saalia is tough, independent and street-smart. A cop first and foremost, her long association with law enforcement has given her a discerning eye when it comes to criminals, and sparks often fly between her and Torill. He just can't get used to having to work with someone who shot at him once; as for Saalia, she thinks he's mostly an idiot but has seen enough of his abilities to intrigue her. The pair's attitude may be changing, though; they have both saved each other's life at least once.
Saalia's somewhat small frame and "mousy" look (as Torill once put it) belie her inner toughness. She has often proven herself to be the equal of Torill in combat, and his superior in attitude and toughness. She has short, black hair and wears an old CS Marshal badge. She is often seen alongside Torill, either "breathing down my goddamned neck" or "trying keeping an eye on the situation," depending on who you ask.
