Profile: Hobbes is the nom de code of a fearsome Trianni bounty hunter that has terrorized the Crew on various occasions. Originally employed by Durga the Hutt, he has since gone freelance and has developed a rivalry between his oft-missed target, Torill. Little else is known about his past; encounters with him usually don't make room for small talk.
Hobbes enjoys attacking by surprise, leaping out of the proverbial cover after stalking his prey for weeks. Unlike most males of his species, he is tall and massive, his flowing mane towering over many people. In combat, he fights like a predatory cat: viciously. However, he is smarter than one might first believe, and often retreats to lick his wounds after suffering an injury. He has specialized extendable vibro-claws that make him deadly in close combat, but also seems to have a penchant for very large and destructive weapons that match his size.
Yet Hobbes has a strange sense of honor. Though he used to think of Torill as stupid but lucky prey, he now seems to think of it as a contest between two equally matched opponents, a contest he has yet to win. In this contest he shows no mercy and expects none, but he always knows when Torill has won the day and backs off. It is likely that this contest will only end with one or the other's death.
Type: Vengeful Imperial Captain
Roles: Recurring Antagonist of Zolar
Quote: "Damn you Zolar! I'll have your head this time!"
Profile: Javier is the captain of the VSD Penetrator, and the unfortunately-named ship seems to have rubbed off on his luck. Stuck with border guard in the occupied Corporate Sector, Javier was barely able to get his brother assigned to his ship's squadron, but felt guilty that he had worked so hard for such a backwater position. That was, until the Rameseum Crew tried to cross the border. When stopped, they attacked to avoid arrest. Javier's brother was killed in the battle when his fighter's thrust vector system coincidentally malfunctioned, clipping the Rameseum II and exploding in a fireball. Javier blames it all on the Crew, and especially Zolar, who he believes purposefully rammed his brother's tiny, maneuverable fighter with a big, slow cow of a bulk freighter. He has since managed to secure a warrant to make the Penetrator the flagship in a galaxy-roaming, nearly autonomous "Criminal Elimination Fleet." He has appeared without warning on several occasions, all cannons firing to rid the galaxy of the "scum and villainy that killed my brother." He will expend any resource in the pursuit of his goal.
Type: Outlaw Doc
Roles: Former Doctor of Rameseum
Quote: "Hold still; if you move, this will hurt a LOT more than it could."
Profile: Leda never thought she was cut out
for work tending the wounds of smugglers. Originally, she planned
to be a xenobiologist, studying
the deadly "It's Only Moss" moss from the relative safety
of the strange cult surrounding the moss. However, she was drawn
too deeply into the cult, and found herself an unwilling spy in
an enemy of the cult's territory. There she met Torill Hendyker,
who not only managed to rescue her from the cult's clutches but
give her a steady job for quite some time (not the job she'd
expected, but hey...). Since then, however, she has left the Crew
to pursue her own educational goals.
Leda is attractive and friendly, at least most of the time. She was very popular at the Rameseum: all the smugglers wanted to get their papercuts and "old war wounds" treated by the pretty doctor. The only problem came from her response to real crises. She can quickly go from bubbly and kawaii to a deadly serious surgeon in the time it takes for someone to call "medic!" She treats wounds curtly and sometimes almost roughly, calling "NEXT!" before the bewildered patient has time to realize the change that's come over her. For this reason, there was sometimes a kind of agonizing reluctance to visit her: on one hand, she was pretty; on the other she could be deadly.
Generally, though, Leda is very pleasant and friendly and a bit flirtatious. She is open and smiling, with a long ponytail of brown hair. She and Torill had a small fling during the Rameseum days, but it didn't go anywhere. She recently has fallen in romantically with Dex, after he saved her life from Imperials that betrayed her while she was working on her graduate project.
