-----Thunder continues to gallop forward with Sol leaning back with his Lathanian sword poised to strike. As steed and rider gain their targets' position, Sol brings his sword forward. The blade sails over one guard's head as he ducks, but takes the life of another guard.
-----As Thunder carries him forward with four guards behind him, Sol sees at least ten more guards on foot each with a small cluster of peasants in front of them. The peasants are being driven toward the top of the hill where the wagons await.
-----Just then one of the first guards that Sol passed yells out, "Bandits!" One of them begins to chase after Sol while the other three turn to face the heroes riding up the hill. The warning yell has little affect on the guards driving the peasants as they continue to roughly urge the people higher on the hill.
-----Leaving the four guards behind him, Sol focuses on the larger group ahead of him. Thunder carries the Stormbringer towards the largest concentration of that group, as the Gorian raises his blade once more.
-----Face expressionless now, the eyes having come alive with deadly intent, Whisper shifted his aim as his right hand blurred between quiver and string, sending more shafts then seemed possible at the three armsmen rushing down.
-----Now that the question of relevance was moot, all that remained was exacting punishment.
-----Lovan suddenly rides up and halts beside Whisper's position. Raising his warhammer, the Storm Priest shouts at the three rushing guards, "Fools! The storm has found ye! Prepare to brave the onslaught, if ye dare!"
-----Oddly this brings a strange reaction from the trio of guards. Even though they continue their advance, an expression of uncertainty comes over their faces.
-----By this time, Sol and Thunder reach the back line of guards driving the peasants. Four of them turn with anger on their faces and swords raised. Very quickly, Sol dismounts and drops one opponent to his death.
-----Just as quick as lightning, Whisper's bow twangs not once, but twice. One arrow pierces precisely through one advancing man's neck hitting vital vessels and even bone. Just as the man drops to the ground, a second arrow finds another guard's shoulder neatly slicing through the man's chain armor.
-----"Nice shot!" Raven says to the elf as the Hunter works at preparing his own bow. Only one guard remains, but he stops short. Seeing his companions dead, he turns and runs back toward the rest of his troop subduing the peasants.
-----Sol downs another of the cruel guards as two advance before him and a third from the rear. The Lathanian blade then becomes a blur as it slashes and parries two of the blades. The man running up behind Sol tries to leap and tackle the Gorian but a quick sidestep from Sol causes the man to go flying face first into some low hedges.
-----"Not so damn fast!" Garrison yells to the retreating man as the woodsman, still mounted, rides after him. Garrison then tries to use the flat of his battleaxe to club the running man, but he misses as he passes. Cursing, the woodsman slows his horse and tries to chase after him again.
-----Raven aims down the shaft of his arrow nocked in his Hunter's Bow. Smoothly, his first shot leaves the bow, but the shot goes wide. The Hunter quickly reaches for another arrow and looses it. This time the arrow finds its mark. The man drops to the ground just barely clinging to his life.
-----Sol holds off his two attackers in defensive positions as the remaining six in this small arm of the troop now turn their attention to the Gorian. Some yell words of warning to others in the troop elsewhere on the hill as they all march the few feet to Sol. The small mob of peasants stand together in a tight ring, many looking too frightened to move.
-----Whisper quickly pulls his bow twice. First one arrow thuds into the leg of one of Sol's opponents while the next shot sails over the assailants landing somewhere in the brush higher on the incline.
-----Rinda and the three warriors are heard riding up from behind as the front line of heroes presses up the hill.
-----"Garrison!" Raven yells as he runs now with his short swords drawn and raised like animal's claws, "Take these fighting Sol! We can work our way up the hill!"
-----Close to the Gorian's position, Raven leaps toward two of the guards trying to surround Sol. The Hunter is successful in taking one down, but the other moves to the side avoiding the ranger's deadly move. Raven rises with the dead man at his feet and snarls.
-----As the excitement builds, movement is seen toward the top of the hill where the wagons were sighted. Through some of the smoke of small fires, riders are seen although it is uncertain whether they are leaders of this small army.
