Chapter 9

Cloud was all alone in his room. He was sitting on the edge of his bed, staring at the shard of the Holy materia. "Aeris... what has happened to you?? Why are you not willing to share the tragic fate of yours? Why?" Cloud whispered, with his voice tingling. He clasped the piece of the orb and held it next to his forehead. Flashback of Aeris' being murdered again haunted his mind. The horrible laugh of Sephiroth's echoed through the musty air in the altar, as his katana sword was stained with Aeris' scarlet blood. And Cloud just stood there, motionless, watching her collapsing to the marble floor. Soon... the white marble was deeply stained into dark red.... Cloud could heard her whispering hoarsely... "Cloud..."

"NNOOOOOOO!!!!" Cloud yelled, with beads of sweat trickling down from his messy blond hair. He panted loudly, as he clutched his hair with his hands. Tears began to trickle down his chin. "Aeris... must you suffer the same unfortunate fate again??" Cloud hissed sadly, while grasping the shard of materia. Pearls of tears dripped onto the materia, making the materia gleam more in the pale moonlight than ever.

As he said that, there was a sudden gust of wind, which blew Cloud away from the bed. Then, the winds began to change. A dark, purplish aura began to appear infront of Cloud. Cloud's glowing ocean eyes grew as the aura began to take shape of a human. Human?? Or is it a monster?? Cloud's mind furiously thought.

"Ira?? Is that you??" Cloud's voice cracked. He tried to sound strong, but his trembling legs and shivering hands had exploited his intentions. Suddenly, a wispy, laugh echoed the whole room.

"Who... who are you??" Cloud said firmly, grabbing hold of his Buster Sword, which was lying on the bed. Suddenly, there a great, dark light was given off, as it traveled in ribbons and began to wrapped around Cloud, unabling him to move.

"WHAT??" Cloud remarked. "Who are you? Show yourself!!" Cloud yelled, struggling in the ribbons of the light. Then, a glimmer of mystical emerald eyes appeared. Wild, silvery hair ran with the wild winds. Great, massive dragon like wings covered his face. Cloud's eyes grew in horror when the wings revealed his face.

"Sephiroth.... ?!!"

Sephiroth's lips turned upwards, as he glided the blade of his katana sword with his fingers. "So... we meet again." Cloud's eyebrows arched, glaring apprehensively at him. "What do you want from me?" Sephiroth ignored his words, and began to fan out his wings. With a chuckle, he smirked, "Cloud... Cloud... all i can say is... you are pathetic." He pointed at him with his sleek sword and laughed.

"What do you mean by that... Sephiroth...."

"Why do you keep protecting that ancient? You should know, that no matter what, her destiny is still the same..." Sephiroth paused as he pulled out his sword and pressed against Cloud's nose.

"To perish under this sword of mine..."

Cloud spat onto the archangel's face. "Oh no you wouldn't!! You'll have to get me first!!" He shouted huskily, fixing his eyes onto him. Sephiroth chuckled as he wiped he face. Then, his mighty wings fanned upwards, unleashing great energy. Then, a dark aura surrounded Cloud, began to press against him, threatening to cut away his supply of air.

"What the devil...??" Cloud exclaimed, as he began to float upwards. "Sephiroth!!" He gritted his teeth. Sephiroth grinned, as he flew towards Cloud. "Don't worry, Cloud Strife... you won't die yet..." He paused. Suddenly, his eyes began to glow eerily.

"I'll need you to destroy that ancient!"

With that, Sephiroth clutched his hands onto his shoulders and opened his mouth. Strangely, Cloud's soul became weaker and weaker, and soon he became so weak that he blacked out. Sephiroth gave a final blast of dark magic, and he was magically transformed into...

CLOUD!!

He had the exact same features as Cloud. The unconscious Cloud was then wrapped with the dark aura, and dissolved away with the aura. Sephiroth laughed with Cloud's voice. He flicked back his hair and stared with much hatred into the stars.

"The Planet will soon be mine...."
