Fly Me To The Moon Like That Bitch, Alazam!

Released: December 26, 2003

And for my next trick is a sort of EP. AKA a short album. Even though it plays for over 35 minutes total it only has 8 songs on it. It definitely serves as a bridge between The Fantastic Voyage and The UnderTure.  Its hard to sum up this album but if it came down to it, this is a "quickie" or a "in-betweener".

1. Universe One
2. Equilibrium
3. Tribal
4. Insurance Resistance
5. Inky Suite - Lyrics
6. Skeletons in your closet
7. Where are you
8. Waking Up

Universe One's scope is to give a nice (spooky) intro to the album. The lyrics and guitars are intentionally quiet.  I may reveal the lyrics someday.

Equilibrium was a left-over from The Fantastic Voyage. Its simple structure and raw attack give it a nice rounded feel.  The lyrics are interesting because I originally wrote them without the music portion of the song (I don't usually write this way).

Tribal is drums and vocals. No stringed or keyed instruments.  It may be kind of boring, but its great at parties.

Insurance Resistance was spontaneously created and came out much better than I had expected. I laid down a drum track without any music and just built it from the ground up. This one is the only song I have that features a talk-box.

Inky Suite was conceived within a few seconds in my mind while I was at work. It did however take me 2 takes until I arrived at the master.  Hands down the best track (or single) on the album.

Skeletons in your closet was originally recorded with an acoustic guitar and less parts. I opted to do it again with an electric guitar and I added some additional passages.  If it still sounds like an acoustic guitar to the listener, its because I used a microphone to double record the guitar part.

Where are you is pretty much a straight up ballad. I especially like the transition from the beginning to the end of the song, it continues to morph as it goes.  It does have a (quick but nice) bass solo on it. For me that is very unusual.

Waking up is a resurrection of an older song of mine. This version came out so well it inspired me to play this song at open mic nights again.

A hidden track exists on this album. It is simply a remix of another song on the album. Nothing in the actual source tracks has been changed (other than their relative volumes).  Sorry to scare you.  (Or make you laugh)
