    So, public... are they or aren't they? I've got some evidence here on why Jessie and James should hook up.

    Though Jessie has a tough side, she perks up when she's with James. For example, the motto. Whenever James suggests a dance or a dip, she goes along with it. Jessie also never objects a fear hug. This is especially in effect in the Aerodactyl episode, where Jessie lunges toward James for a fear hug. 
    Jessie does things for James, though not as often as he does things for her. She didn't let the Maiden get him in 'Ghost of the Maiden's Peak,' and in 'Pokémon Shipwreck,' she wouldn't let James die on the other side of the "fiery inferno." 
    Jessie sometimes acts as the guy when James is afraid or psyched(Ghost of the Maiden's Peak, where he acted totally freaky). Well, that's about it for her...

    James, on the other hand, does a lot for Jessie. 
   When they do their little motto scene, sometimes he pretends to hand her his rose, or something similar like sharing the microphone. Often, James shows off for Jessie, i.e. the fishing net, the chicken/egg controversy, saving their submarine by risking his life, and sometimes acting smart.
    Everyone can tell that he has feelings for Jessie. In, 'The Ultimate Test,' he promised to fight for Jessie when she was expelled. In the episode, 'Princess vs. Princess,' when Jessie lost to Misty, James made a set of dolls that were better. He also wished her luck before she entered the battle. Not to mention he always faces Jessie in their sleeping bags! ^^

    Another bit of evidence for the two is that they often flirt, even in the older episodes. For example, in, 'The Path to the Pokémon League,' Jessie got all flirtatious and said that "the gentlemen always carries the bag." James then got the same look on his face and said, "Well, as you know, I'm no gentleman..."
