for the guild of the
Knights of the Eternal Flame
Central Council - The main office of the guild:
- Opperators of the KEF-guild web site.
- The central administrating council;
guiding members of the guild as a whole on the web.
Optionaly refered to as the "Mother House".
- Structured as the tradition guild "Council of 9".
- Terms run March till August and August thru March
to avoid conflict with guiuld elections in games.
Council seats may be filled by voulnters or by election process as the number of members desiring to serve on the high council may dicatate. Consecutive terms being permitted and encouraged
- The titles associated with these council seats are:
- Grand Master - (Vice president)
- Presently - Lord Rathar
- Assistant Grand Master - (executive vice president)
- Presently - Lord Aluric
- Seneschal of the guild - (archivist for the guild)
- Presently - Lord Trigg
- Scribe of the guild - (guild secretary)
- Presently - Lord Ruddack
- Guild Hosteller - (Server Tech Manager for web)
- Presently - VACANT - apply to Lord Aluric
- Guild Herald - (web page cordinator)
- Presently - Lord Kedryn
- Prelate of the Guild - (like a local guilds KoR)
- Presently - Lord Kainen
- Grand Champinion - (like a local guilds warlord)
- Presently - VACANT - apply to Lord Aluric
- Guild Prefect - (advisor inter player problem issues)
- Presently - Lord Mattan
- The central council will not rule all the guild in the different games as much as they will strive to cordinate and maintain a unified presence.
- This is to insure that new chapters of the guild conform to the standards already set up and upheld by the guild.
- To do this, decisions by the combined central council will be made after having heard from the "Present Masters" and where called for the "Peers of the Realm"
- will only be made after each Guild Master, in their seperate games have been heard on the issue,
- and where any on the central council feel it alpplies:
- will consider the opinions of the past Guild Masters of the guild for the different games, and previous central council Grand Masters and Assistant Grand Masters.
- This concept is know as peeradge.
- Long a practice of the middle ages.
- We want to respect the services that have been provided by these memebers, so we continue in a forward direction with the guild.
- In a similar vein, the "Orders" and "Awards of Merrit" within the guilds will be continued:
- Holders of these awards of merrit and members of the special orders shall be considered as peers of the guild
- Given a voice in decisions whenever possible.
- But in the end, too many managers is not good either
- the actual votes of the central council will be by the council members themselves.
- Voting's will take place after a proper comentary phase, and the votes will be by the central council members.
- The Grand Master and the Assistant Grand Master may, if they feel the issue warrants:
- give a vote to the presently serving GM's in the different games to help insure a balance is maintained.
- Duties and Responsibilities of the Central Council by position:
- The duites of these offices are prety much as the titles then suggest as above, with the below descriptions provided for amplification and clarity.
- Prelate - based on the originial high level official in religious based organizations from medieval times. Similar to a bishop in level of authority in a church higherarchy. While this guild is not a church based group, we do share many similar traits and qualities, that could qualify us as a religious base organization., The vast majority of orders of knighthood where just that; no matter how losely they actually followed the teachings of the particular religious orders. (This kept them from being dammned to what ever fate, the evil dooers meet for killing your opponent).
The Prelate will like wise share a similar goal with the Guild Champion (see below), with respect to issues of Knightly conduct, and behavior and the means to display such while playing in the seperate games. Problems like in game speach, character movemnt and displays of emotions and such varry between the games as does the games own requirements on what is and is not acceptable behavior on the part of the good guys.
- Prefect - from times past was a high level administrator, in a government organization, typicialy charged with the protection of the government's offices.
- Hosteller-was the person in medievil time responsible for all the resources of the organization, like a treasures, bookkeeper, warehouseman all combined.
- Guild Champion - will be responsible for examining each games mechanics, from the players point to see how we can adjust or ranking points systems and our in game quests, with reguards to combat in the different games.
- Scribe - from past times, the people who recorded everything so it could be recalled at some future point. Our Scribe will handel the secreterary duties. mailings, roll calls, updating the membership lists, meeting minutes logs, and other elements like that.
- Seneschal - was the secratary of the middle ages, but also a middle manger of sorts. For our guild on the web, they are responsible for insuring the guilds archives are maintained in an orderly and searchable fashion, and insure timely updates are made.
- Herald - was in the old days the person who kep maintained and recorded the devices used to identify the various Knights of the realms, and would typicaly be charged with keeping order in the Masters halls, meetings and large events, including being responsible for getting infomation passed to all.
For our guild this then is a sort of General Web Minister, in charge of making and maintaining the web pages for the seperate games that COULD host a kef guild group; or that already have a kef presence, but have as yet no officialy designated webminister.
They will be responsible to regulary check all the guilds web pages, to verify accuracy of information contained there in, and verify that links inter site as well as off our web site are in fact working.
The Herald will also handel the Guild Newsletter, and the guild's reporters in each game cordinating a regular monthly new letter and insuring it gets posted to the Guilds boards.
- Assistant Grand Master - is similar to an exucitive vice president, opperating on a near equal level with the actual Guild Head (our Grand Master). having the authority to independantly make decision, with the authority of the entire guild.
- Grand Master - is the actuall Vice president of the guild, and the highest level of mannagement, having the ability to break any tie votes on issues brought to the entire central council.
- ANY ONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO FILL THE VANCIES PLEASE E MAIL US AT KEFGUILD@HOTMAIL.COM.
The second case for outposts is when a given game has more then one server where there is not interplay between the servers. Guilded players may at their own discreation wish to expand out ward on thier own.
