Timeline

Note: All years are C.E. (Current Era)
0 - Year of Chaos. The forces of good defeat the combined armies of the evil
deity Malafini on the northern continent. In their defeat, the forces of Malafini
open a large connection to the Para-elemental Plane of Magma, melting the northern
ice cap. The resulting flood radically changes the geography of Epihellas. the
Great Plains of Thracia are flooded, separating Epihellas into five great islands.
The Innersea rushes in to separate to separate the Maarkanland Peninsula from the island
now known as Midland, while the northern jungles are separated from Midland by the
Sea of Falling Stars, becoming an island chain. Many coastal areas are flooded.
1-200 - Years of Darkness. Governments collapse, and much technology is lost:
compasses, spyglasses, much shipping technology. Contact is completely lost between
the southeastern islands and the northern and western islands of Epihellas. Contact
is also lost between Midland and the northern island Al'Qadar. On Al'Qadar, the Great
Northern Deserts begin to form.

for mutual defense.

begin to settle the jungle islands in the north.
312 - In the Kingdom of the Innersea, the last king of the House of Peritarchos dies, leaving no heir.
Civil war between the houses of Falconfeather and Darkmoon breaks out, causing much death and destruction.
The Eastern Territories, including the Westbank Duchy and the Two Rivers Duchy, remain undecided. The elves
of Ravenwood declare their neutrality in the conflict, as do the Knights of the Golden Sword.
314 - In return for independence, the Westbank Duchy and the Two Rivers Duchy back the House of Falconfeather's
claim to the throne. The forces of the House of Darkmoon are finally defeated at the Battle of Coventry, and Anton
Falconfeather "the Bold" ascends to the throne. The newly independent duchies form a mutual defense pact with the
Kingdom of the Innersea to prevent another greatly destructive war.
315 - The Knights of the Golden Sword separate into three different orders, due to the difficulty in communication
between the former territories of the Kingdom of the Innersea. This separation is for the most part unopposed.
336 - The Alliance of Karkast is signed by the cities of Karkast, Andrien, Harrowdale, Greymarch, and Illuin for
mutual defense. Other former cities of the Thracian Empire decide to remain independent, and do not sign.

and east is broken for many years to come. Much celebration ensues after 55 years of war.

between their neighbors. The last of the large, ocean-going ships finally deteriorate after several hundred years of service.
Governments west of the mountains concentrate on fighting amongst themselves and trade almost drops to zero. Communication
between Midland and the Maarkanland Peninsula are cut off. The technology to build even mid-sized ocean going ships is lost.
Communication between the Kingdom of the Innersea and its former territories becomes intermittent at best.
428 - The city of Kaltos, on the Markaanland Peninsula, is abandoned.
483 - Goblin activity increases. The dwarves are forced to close Spireguard, which cuts off almost all travel between
the eastern and western halves of Midland. Goblins control many of the areas away from the cities, but are unable to gather

a mutual defense pact against Doggerton.

the Gerda River and captures the city of Overton. Later that year, a small force from Ruhr, with help from the Dwarven
Kingdom, prevent an army from attacking Mountainguard, and force it back to Benthia.
811 - Early in the year, the combined Armies of the Black Nine pull back to Glantry in response to the news of
Paschendale entering the war. Later that year, the ancient city of Gadimed is captured.
812 - The War of the Black Nine ends in a stalemate as the armies of Paschendale and Ruhr are defeated outside
Doggerton. However, the Combined Armies are so seriously weakened that they cannot sustain the war. Later, the Black
Nine are overthrown and driven from the lands controlled by the old Doggerton Council. A new council is formed, and
treaty ending the war is signed by all three governments.

with the Black Pentad, and sends a large force to invade the mainland. The Innersea Knights of the Golden Sword begin a mass
exodus to join the forces of the Westbank Duchy.

the attackers are driven back when a force from Lyellia arrives.

Dwarven Kingdom, and the Innersea Knights of the Golden Sword form a new Grand Alliance in the face of the current
