She’d been tracking down stolen equipment for one of her employers and got a lead that got her captured and nearly killed. The equipment was being used to steal super powers off of captured supers. She probably would have been shot and killed there and then but things were busy at the moment and she was handcuffed and locked in a closet. The device itself was able to perform the functions of a linked set of Super powers, Drain Super Ability and Mimic Super Ability and 'burn' the powers into a human giving him or her the powers stored in the machinery. Theoretically the donor's powers would recover IF the processs didn't kill them or if the people behind this scheme didn't kill them off after the removing them from machine, which they generally did. They were giving their agents super powers this way, buildiing a small army of metahumans to do whatever purposes they had in mind. That particular afternoon, things went horribly wrong. The machinery overloaded as the current victim managed to shrug off whatever drug had kept him helpless and began using his powers to try and escape. The explosion bathed everyone in the building with the energy the powers were 'written' on. For a few minutes at least, everybody gained EVERY power the machine had stored. The explosion empowered several of the other captives who broke out and began to fight their captors. Tallman used hers to escape. Most of the powers faded away within minutes but in a couple of cases including hers, some powers remained in effect apparently permanently grafted on. She doesn't need to breathe, and her toughened body is able to handle vaccuum without harm. She can stick to and climb any surface and move at her normal speed. She can also leap fairly far faster than normal physics would account for) The battle at the machine destroyed the place fairly completely. She's had no real leads to this organization since then. As it happened, she had no ID on her when she was captured so the organization has no real leads on her though it's possible a surviviving member at that site could recognize her, they do not for game purposes constitute an 'enemy'.
