  1. Burning Rubber:Basic Tips to Gain Speed
    1. Start your turbo powerslides as early as possible and hold them for as long as possible. It is often possible to navigate your way through 2 or 3 of the close together turns on one turboslide, and although it would be a little faster to just do a number of smaller powerslides, the turns are so close together that multiple powerslides are often difficult to get off, especially in traffic. Therefore, do multiple powerslides on the long, sweeping turns, and single turbo-powerslides through the close-packed turns.

    2. If playing on 150cc, be very aware of the absence of the fence at the end of the long U-turn. If you overcompensate and hug the mountain, you may bounce off the wall and skid off the upper track onto the lower track below. It is actually better to approach this turn in the outside lane, so you have room to turn inwards when required.

    3. Save bananas and fake item boxes for the 2nd last turn (ie the right turn that can be jumped up onto as shown below.) Hitting a banana and skidding out here can cause you to fall back onto the lower track.
