Sherbet Land

Difficulty:Medium-Hard

  1. Burning Rubber:Basic Tips to Gain Speed
    1. In stark contrast to Wario Stadium, Sherbet Land is a speed track. Taking the corners too hard will result in a dip in the ice water, and taking them too cautiously will result in your kart hitting the wall, wasting precious seconds. You can often jump over the edges of the cracks in the ice, but it is often easier just to turbo-powerslide over these corners, as you will not fall into the water if you're going fast enough.

    2. Mushroom Usage: There are a lot of straightaways which are perfect for mushroom usage, especially the streatch right before the ice cave entrance where your kart seems to bottom out.

    3. The penguins in Mario Kart seem to have the power to will your kart to steer into them, and not away from them (especially when you're playing late at night.) If you think of the penguins in this light, you may improve your chances of avoiding them.

    4. The best route through the caves is to stay to the left throughout your turbo-powerslide (try not to hit the left wall as you are doing this, but hitting the wall is preferable to hitting a penguin and spinning out.) There are two penguins you have to worry about if you use this route, the first of which is easy to get by (just hug the wall and he(she?) won't be able to hurt you). The second penguin you have to worry about is the one (technically, its two) circling the last ice column before leaving the ice cave. If the penguin is blocking your path when you get to the ice column, it is better to squeeze between the penguin and the ice column than between the penguin and the wall (you'll have more room to maneuver, and you'll come out of the cave at a better angle.) Mastering this route through the cave is crucial to victory.
