Modification of Constructs and Harbingers.
A psionicist may, through meditation modify a construct/harbinger
that they know. All normal rules for meditation apply. The base time is
50 days*. The psionicist may modify the construct/harbinger by 1,2,3 or 4
points with very easy, easy, hard and very difficult modifiers respectively.
The points may be spread out amongst any of the modifiers provided by
the Harbingers vs. Constructs Table. These new modifiers should be
noted down separately. Remember that for constructs the points are
negative ie. Void vs Sword could be reduced to +4 or lower.
Increasing Psionic Combat Scores. [back to top]
A psionicist can attempt to enhance his/her abilities in psionic combat.
Instead of just increasing the power score for an attack/defence he/she can
gain a bonus to the result gained after checking to see whether the roll was
lower than the power score.
ie Jezral is attacking Krt’kll with the Silt Horror harbinger and Krt’kll is
defending with the Cha’thrang construct. Jezral has a power score of 16 for
psychic crush and Krt’kll has a power score of 12 for intellect fortress. Jezral’s
PS is modified by -3 for horror vs. cha’thrang.
Jezral rolls a 13 and succeeds.
Krt’kll rolls an 11 and succeeds but not with a high enough result to
beat Jezral. Krt’kll though has been a good little psionicist. She has meditated
and has gained a +2 bonus to her IF combat score. This means that Krt’kll now
has an effective score of 13 vs Jezral’s 13 and as defender always wins ties,
this round of psionic combat goes to Krt’kll.
The base time for meditation is 80 days. And the psionicist can raise the bonus
by 1,2 or 3 with easy, hard or very difficult modifiers respectively.
New Constructs and Harbingers. [back to top]
A psionicist may develop new construct/harbinger’s using the meditation
rules. The new onstruct/harbinger must be from an a/d the character already
knows and he/she must have construct/harbinger slot open. The new
construct/harbinger must be balanced around the bonuses/penalties of the
opposing construct/harbinger’s based on the bonuses/penalties of the basic
attack vs. defence tables.

Whenever a new construct/harbinger is used against another new
construct/harbinger the modifiers for the underlying attack and defence
are used. In the above example if the phase spider harbinger is used
against a new mind blank construct. The attacker has a -3 penalty
irrespective of its other bonuses vs. other mind blank constructs
There is a base meditation time of 80 days*. The progression check
penalty is -2 for non telepaths and telepaths get a +2 bonus.
*The time needed for both modifying a construct/harbinger and creating
new construct/harbinger’s is less than the normal meditation times because
modifying and creating construct/harbinger’s is easier than modifying full
powers. The construct/harbinger’s are more extensions of existing powers
than powers in their own right.
