We are all very much aware (if not, then we are very naïve) that all the major internationally recognised forms of ID (such as passports, driving licences, birth certificates) are forged by international criminal gangs which support illegal immigration. But in a new development, it seems that any form of ID which is less secure than the major ones can be and is being forged. In particular, we have discovered that British Angling Licences are subject to extensive forgery. Apparently, Spanish secret agents have infiltrated our post offices and are producing approximately one hundred fake fishing licences every week, most of which find their way to Spain. This plot was uncovered when a statutory licence check was performed at all the angling sites on the river Lea in Hertfordshire. Several men of Spanish origin were discovered with false licences fishing in the Stanborough lakes area. In blatant disregard of angling etiquette, the men were killing and keeping the fish they caught rather than returning them to the water. It seems that this has been going on for some time. The captured fish were being deep frozen and shipped back to Spain, where apparently they are a considered a delicacy among the Spanish Mafia. Many species of fish may be under threat of extinction because of this, and nobody knows the extent of the problem. However, anglers have reported a distinct lack of Trout, Pike and Gudgeon, three of the most common fish found in British Rivers.
