On the flip side
So why do we stress the subjects like math, science, and English in education? While this website might seem like an all out protest against the current education system, this is not the case. It is merely designed to familiarize people with the idea of multiple intelligences. This is being done so that one can recognize that in educating children we need to let them explore what comes naturally.
It is with good reason that our education system stresses certain subjects. The subjects stressed teach children the skills they need to strive in today's society. A child that is not taught basic math skills (whether or not it comes naturally) wouldn't be able to accomplish such basic tasks like working with money. This is obviously a skill that needs to be developed. A child that only perfects their artistic talent would have a hard time when it comes time to manage their bank account.
The education system needs to stress the subjects that it does. It also needs to allow a child to develop skills outside the scope of math, science and English, too. After all, with out spatial intelligence every one would just have to admire Manhattan from a distance. There wouldn't be a bridge or tunnel to cross to get there!
Is there a better way
