There has been much debate recently about the whole Open vs. Closed Realms in D2. I can see the pro's and con's of each side of the debate, and have already formed my own opinion. Unfortunately, I do not have the option of going by my view, but must do what is in the best interest of the Army. Dramatic pause.... At this time, the Roman Army will be allowing "Open" characters as Main Characters. This is done with much resistance, and to be quite frank, some aprehension. The rules for Diablo will cover the Open characters. Meaning the member who chooses to play Open (and I hope many will not) will be held accountable for that character. The Roman Army will not accept cheating in any way, shape or form. The members who play open will have that fact noted on their member information, as will the realm players. Everyone knows that open cannot play with realm characters, and realms cannot at this time play with other realms. It is my hope, that once B-net settles down to a more stable enviroment, the people who have opted for Open will develop their Realm character. With any experiment (see below for dual membership experiment), the leaders of the Roman Army reserve the right to end this in the future, if any problems arise.

MIA's currently fill our ranks, in Diablo II, there will be a change of policy concerning MIA's. The proposed changes are; if a member is absent (doesn't attend meetings, notify by E-mail, or by ICQ)for a period of 30 days, with out informing a level 2 officer, or higher, then that member will be listed as MIA. Included in the MIA listing will be the date that they were declared MIA. They will be listed for an additional 30 days, at the end of which (if there has been NO contact), they will be removed from the ranks. Exceptions to this will be handled on a case by case basis. Note, this concerns only the members who vanish, if there are Real Life matters that interfere, simply e-mail the RA in the 60 day period.

As everyone knows by now, the shooting in Colorado is a terrible thing to have happened. I normally don't involve the news section with real life events, but it does affect our members, as was evident by Zorcist^RA^'s post recently....

OK, I'm sure a lot of you know I'm from CO, and if you don't you know now by reading this. I've been asked a lot from my internet buddies if I'm OK because they know I live here...and YES I am OK, I do not go to Columbine and its very sickening and sadening that this happened in my own little part of the world. I'm also sure there are some of you that also live here in CO and feel the same way. First reason I'm OK is cuse I live 20 miles or so west of Columbine, and go to Fariview high school in Boulder cuse that's where I live. I would like to thank all of you for your concern...thanx :) Zorcist^ra^

I only repeat his post here to remind us all to keep things in perspective. That there is a person on the other side of the characters we see in the games.

Well Members, we are looking into allowing dual membership in other like minded guilds. This will be in Diablo only, till we see if there will be any problems. This experiment will better aid us as we progress into the Diablo II game. The requirements are.... the guild in question ideals MUST NOT conflict with the Roman Army's beliefs (legit, non-pk, etc, etc.). The leadership of the other guild must be aware, and aprove of the dual membership. Finally, any conflict must be brought to a senior officers attention ASAP.

In any experiment, there are dangers, so a link to the members alternate guild will be inserted in their info on the members page. I encourage all Roman players to visit the sites, and see for themselves that the member in question is who they say they are. Their other name will not be listed, but at least the rules their other character is governed by will be there for all to see.

At this time, the dual membership option is NOT extended to the officers, but only to the enlisted members. Please give me some feed back on this experiment, if this is a bust, we will need to know before Diablo II is released.

I have a question for all of that RA, How many of you, besides me, check all of RA's BB's when you come here, that includes the RA D2 BB,main BB, alternative BB, and the private forum BB? the reason I do is because all of them can have some info that is really important to the growth or improvement of RA. Yeah most of the time it's just communicating things with everyone at RA but some of those communications can be really important. I posted a thing about the RA D2 page on the private BB stating that if there are any questions or comments or anything that i could do to improve that page please let me know, its only been a couple of days since i posted that so im not expecting any feedback from it yet, but its an important one that you should read. That was just an example of an important message there's alot of other ones too, too many to mention, also check out the current news page on the RA D2 page, there hasn't been any current news posted there lately because no1's been there lately or we didnt get any feedback from it. So now that I'm done rambling i suggest that we all start checking BB's more often and posting on them more often, although thats hard because we all want to get in diablo in a 20 minute time frame because we have two hours to go after him again and again :) Now, don't think I'm accusing anyone of not reading the BB's, because I'm not, I'm just asking for more responses to important posts, this is for the good of RA not just to ammuse us all. Now to make sure that no matter what BB we visit I am going to post this on every BB and probably maybe even on the current news section of the RA D2 page. Sorry for sounding like a stiff just this is really important for us all. Zor

Some fairly good news about D2

Blizzard has just recently stopped the Diablo II screen shot of the week. Which means they have probably started the beta testing. Which I'm guessing should be 4-6 weeks till that is done. Then another 3-4 weeks after that they should release D2 YYYEEEAAAaaahhhh!!!!!!!!. So it's right around the corner
