In the middle of the night, you are allowed near me. In my dreams.
In the depths of the dark, you are allowed to hold me. In my dreams.
In the hours between dusk and dawn, you are allowed to be my love. In my dreams.
I walk to you, unsure of how you will react.
At first, I feel much like a young child.
Your perception of me is completely hidden.
Then, you speak.
Your eyes betray what you hold inside.
They tell tales of your own masked longing, a longing I now know we share together.
You take hold of my hand...
we melt together in a tight embrace.
Neither of us wish to let go, yet we both know it is entirely forbidden.
I would give my all to you, you would give your all to me...
if only...
if only it weren't just in my dreams.
