And now, on to Civil War Generals II...What can I say about this game? It's fun, it's addicting, it's exciting, and it's my favorite computer game. This game is hands down the best war strategy game I've ever played, beating Red Alert, Warcraft II, and Command & Conquer hands down. Buy this game if you like strategy games, the American Civil War, and especially good war games. My brother, Kyle, and I can be found on WON.NET with these names:

Kyle: William T. Sherman

Me: Sam Hood

I'd love to battle someone, but be warned, I'm better than you think.

Having trouble?? Just getting started?? Check out my Strategy Hints.

Meanwhile, check out some of the beautiful artwork by Mort Kunstler that is featured in the game.

In this game, you take command of either a Confederate or Union army. You will play the roles of Lee, Jackson, Grant, Sherman, and others. The idea is to command your troops successfully throughout an entire campaign, or an individual battle. Campaigns range from smaller campaigns, like Seven Days or the Shenandoah Valley, to larger campaigns, like the Western and Eastern Theater. For a real challenge, you can command your forces throughout the ENTIRE Civil War. Each battle is exciting and intense, where victory or defeat are not weighed merely by the number of men you kill, but by how much ground you gain, how many strategic positions you hold, and how many of your own men you keep alive. You must also try to keep your brigade, division, and corps commanders alive. Losing them can be a serious blow to both your army's morale and command-structure. When a leader dies, another, usually less-experienced leader will take his place. It isn't a good feeling to see James Longstreet replaced by some no-name hick.

These are some of the battles you may play:

First Manassas (Bull Run)

Shiloh

Shenandoah Valley Battles

Seven Days' Battles

Second Manassas

Chickamauga

Chattanooga

Antietam

Harper's Ferry

Fredericksburg

Chancellorsville

Vicksburg

Gettysburg

Battles of Sherman's Atlanta Campaign

Wilderness

Washington (Fictional)

There are also many more, but these are some of the more important ones. I hope I didn't forget any!!
