I started running in October 1990.  A condition stopped me from running at the beginning of July of 1997.  I started again at the beginning of June of 1999, after 23 months out.  I run year round, 6 days a week.  I run approximately 7 miles a day, with a 10 mile long run on Sundays.  It's the best when I get to run with my high school's Cross Country and Track teams.  All of my PR's (Personal Records) from racing are listed below.  All of the races below from 5 mile up are run by the Annapolis Striders, a running club in Annapolis, Maryland.  They run many races in the Annapolis area.  Also, they have a series of races (used to be 10 races, went to 8 in 1997, and finally 9 in 1998) called the Championship Series.  For each of those races, the members are placed with other members of their age group and they receive points for 1st, 2nd, and so on.  At the end of the year, the points are added up, and the person with the least points wins that age group.  They count your best 6 (5 now) scores to determine yours.  1996 was the last year of the 10 race series, and I was the youngest person by 10 years to ever complete all 10 races in the series.  This includes the Metric Marathon (see 26.2K), which I was also the youngest person to ever complete.

Interests, hobbies, and talents:

My hobbies are computing (Linux), running, and playing video games.  I am a decent distance runner, I am (was) very good at video games (don't have time to play anymore), and I also did decent in school (especially high school).  I am especially good at math, and was the best at math in my school from 8th grade until I graduated high school.  I even won the outstanding student award for my whole high school career from the math department.  I am also very good at science.  As far as the other subjects, well, good enough to get by :o)  I did all honors classes.  I went to Penn State for a year and finished at Salisbury State University.  I was supposed to get a scholarship for Air Force ROTC at Penn State, but that fell through.  At Penn State, I was planning to get a baccalaureate's in Meteorology.  Meteo isn't offered anywhere in Maryland, so I majored in Physics and minored in Computer Science. Originally, I wanted to be a meteorologist and weather forecaster for a local news station. If you live in the D.C. area, you see Doug Hill (my idol) and Channel 7, Topper Schutt on Channel 9, or Bob Ryan and Dave Jones on Channel 4; that is what I wanted to do.

I have no complaints though.  Now I am teaching Computer Science at my high school, and assistant coaching Cross Country and Track.

Other useless info:

My favorite video games are 1) The Legend of Zelda:  A Link to the Past for Super Nintendo and 2) Super Mario Brothers 3 for NES; my favorite video game character is Luigi; my favorite movies are Mr. Destiny and 12:01 (a made for TV movie, Groundhog Day got its whole idea from it); my favorite actors are James Belushi and Chuck Norris; I had a subscription to Nintendo Power for 7 years before finally letting go.  I just don't have the time anymore :o(.  I have the NES, Super NES, Game Boy, Virtual Boy, and Nintendo 64;  blah, blah, blah, etc., etc.
