Newport, Rhode Island

Home of the rich and famous

Summer of 2003, I took a road trip to Newport, Rhode Island for the specific purpose of touring Rosecliff. I was fascinated by this city. It was incredible. Usually, cities don't capture my fancy like natural features do, but this city is definitely an exception. Wealth in all it's wonder. So while I may not be wealthy, it's a great place to dream. Enjoy my virtual tour.

Newport Ghost Tour

Above is the Darkhorse Inn. It is the oldest operating tavern in the United States. I enjoyed a wonderful gourmet dinner with the help of a gracious and helpful staff. I also found out on the Newport Ghost Tour that the Inn is supposed to be haunted. It seems that a man died on the second floor (or maybe it was third) and is reputed to haunt the establishment. Others have reported seeing a woman in the corner of the second floor. I didn't see or sense any ghosts, but dinner was excellent.
