Summer of 2003, I took a road trip to Newport, Rhode Island for the specific purpose of touring Rosecliff. I fell in love with this mansion after watching The Great Gatsby. Rosecliff's elegant ballroom and signature heart-shaped staircase was also featured in True Lies. Visiting Rosecliff is a dream come true. I was somewhat disappointed that Rosecliff wasn't exactly the mansion from the movie, but it has a incredible elegance all it's own. I want to go back to Newport again and visit all of the mansions. I still can't get over how huge these homes are! Unfortunately, interior photography isn't permitted (a fact I didn't realize until I managed to get a couple of shots off).
