THE ORIGIN OF CLAN
GHOST GRAY FOX
Originally members of Clan Wolf, Clan Ghost Gray Fox was formed
when a rather large group of people and one of Clan Wolf's most
highest ranking Generals took over a jump ship on its way on what
they thought would be a pure suicide mission. They were to recolonize a moon with partially working geo-domes from clan Jade
Falcon. There was no honor in that.
General Joseph Kelpt took command of the Wolf Jumpship Darkfox,
one of the largest Jumpships in Clan Wolf. It carried a good portion
of Clan Wolf's Timberwolf and Dire Wolf Battlemechs. Also, it
carried many farmers and skilled builders as well as the military
personnel.
They made regular jumps for three weeks, stopping at an unexplored
planet. A sensor-sweep of the planet found it to be almost identical
to Terra in atmosphere, climate, vegetation, and terrain.
Built in the side if a tall mountain, the stone Gray Fox head
stays watch over the planet from its vantage point over one thousand
feet over ground level. The entire mountain was quarried and mined
to hollow it out and to find metals that could be used to repair
damaged mechs in the days that would come ahead in blood thirsty
war against their brother, Clan Wolf.
After nearly six months of hard continued work, Ghost Fox
Mountain was fully armed and operational. The Mech hangar was
at the base of the mountain, completely camouflaged from the naked
eye. The peoples quarters were above the stone fox's head. They were safe and content to be that way. All other space was used up by computers, mission planning areas and the infermary.
Then, four months into the full operation call, disaster struck.
The Timberwolf repair crews had been outside working on the eight
Timberwolves just to enjoy the good weather, a luxury they could
not have afforded under Clan Wolf rule. It was four of the eight
Timberwolves Myomer artificial muscles. They were rotting very
quickly for an unexplained reason. Unable to stop the rotting
process, the four affected Timberwolves eventually fell to the
ground. Not anticipating such poor workmanship from such a high
quality Clan as Clan Wolf, Khan Joseph Kelpt found himself with
no answers to quite a few questions.
Fortunately, Clan Ghost Gray Fox held brother-ship more dearly
than a radical response to a situation. Kelpt was left alone after
a few hours and immediately sent an investigation team out to
the decrepit Timberwolf Battlemechs.
A month after the investigation initiated, just days after
the four Battlemechs were restored to full operational capacity,
the investigation came to a conclusion. "We have found, ironically,
that the artificial muscles were not sabotaged by Clan Wolf or
Clan Ghost Gray Fox. The thoroughly tested finding of this investigation
leads us to believe that the muscles were sick. An unknown disease
infected them and caused them to decay."
That out of the way, the members of Clan Ghost Gray Fox began
planning their very first attack on Clan Jade Falcon.
"My brothers and sisters, we are Ghost Gray Fox.
We have the right to begin anew with a ferocity unmatched even
by our brother, the Master Wolf.
With our valiant machines and our great minds, we will rule Terra
as we do Fox Plain.
Go my warrior children, fight for what is truly ours."
