Music is a huge part of my life. When I was younger, I used to play keyboard, and in school, the recorder and clarinet. When I was in grade 6, I really started to listen to music on the radio. My favourite song back then was The First Time by Surface. Eventually, my exposure to music made me want to be more than just a passive listener. So like most kids, I started to sing along with the radio (when I was alone, of course). And now, I'm really into singing karaoke, even in front of an audience. Along with that, I've written a few songs of my own sung to existing songs, sorta like what Weird Al Yankovich does except without the (intentional) humour.
Currently, I have plans to form a singing group comprised of two guys and two girls. We'd first start off by doing remakes of slow jamz in a harmonic duet style. Ever hear a song and thought to yourself, "Man, that song would sound amazing as a girl and guy duet!"? That'd be our thing. Eventually, when we're good enough, we'd write our own material. So what's our gimmick? Well, aside from our formation, we'll all be Canadians of Asian descent . . . and we'll be known as HarmonizeAsians®.
