"We reasoned, father," said Ruto in a lovely soprano, "that three teenagers would have a better chance of defeating Volvagia and the other lords than three children."

"So long as the portal is open, we can return to our usual age any time we want, your highness," Zelda said in a soft voice, soft like velvet.

"If your daughter has kept up in her magic lessons, then we can proceed as we are. Volvagia was heading towards the Kokiri Forest, most likely for Phantom Ganon or the Poe sisters. We will find them all and defeat them." Link's voice was masculine and strong.

Together, the three of them turned and walked from Zora's Domain.

This next portion was written by James Day.

"Theres got to be a quicker way." Said Ruto, looking out over Hyrule Field standing next to Link and Zelda. "My people can't stand land for more than a few hours, I'll be dehydrated before we get to Kokiri Forest!" Then, Navi piped up.

"Link! You need to worn Saria!" Link whipped out his ocarina and played Saria's song.

"Link?" Said the voice. "Its Saria. What's wrong?"

"You're in terrible danger!" Replied Link. "You must..."

"Link?" Interupted Saria. "Whats wrong with your voice? Its gone all.... deep..."

"It doesn't matter! The evil dragon Volvagia and Morpha are heading towards the forest temple and plan to awaken the Poe sisters slumber!"

"Wha-what shall I do?" Asked Saria, slightly shocked.

"Tell all the Kokiri to stay in their homes and Saria? Don't do anything stupid."

"Oh okay. Bye then." Then the Ocarinas magic glow stopped showing that Saria had finished talking.

* * *

Mido was trundling across the Kokiri Forest clearing. He had been ordering the other Kokiri around all day. Suddenley, a darkness loomed over the forest. All the Kokiri working looked up to see the huge Volvagia cruising towards them. Suddenley, the dragon's mouth open and flames poured out...

* * *

Zelda, Link, and Ruto materialised on the platform by the Forest Temple. But to their surprise it was quite dark.

"Link!" Said a voice. They turned round to see Saria running towards them.

"Saria! I told you..." Started Link.

"Listen!" Said Saria. "Volvagia has caused a terrible darkness over the Lost Woods and Kokiri forest! I left before he arrived because I feared he would do something terrible! I've got a feeling somethings happened!" Link looked up in the sky and saw smoke coming from the direction of Kokiri Forest. A look of despair spread across Link's face. He turned to face Ruto and Zelda.

"Stay here." He said. Then he turned round and ran towards Kokiri Forest, closly followed by Saria. Zelda felt a sorrowfull feeling in her stomach for Link and the Kokiri.

"What's so special about that place anyway?" Asked Ruto.

"It's where Link grew up." Zelda replied.

"But he's not Kokiri!" Exclaimed Ruto. "He's Hylian."

"He was taken on by the Great Deku Tree as a child and until a seven years from now." Ruto looked at Zelda, slightly miffed. Then, Volvagia thundered past, over the forest temple.

"I'll explain later, but we have to stop Volvagia!"

* * *

Link ran into the forest clearing and was dismayed at the sight. Flames were raging all over Kokiri Forest. Then he noticed Mido lying on the grass, amongst the flames. He ran to him, with no regard for his own safety, as Saria watched. Link scooped up Mido's small, Kokiri body and ran back to Saria and laid him down.

"He's burnt pretty bad." Said Saria. "Mido! Mido wake up!" He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at Link.

"Dragon, attacked forest." He said, with a sense of pain in his voice. "I'm not going to make it." He looked at Saria. "Saria.... I need to tell you that....that....I....." Then Mido's head flopped onto the grass. Link felt a tear in his eye and looked over at Saria who was weeping softly.

"Don't worry Saria." Said Link, putting his hand on her shoulder. "I'll make sure Volvagia will never hurt anyone again." Link stood up, looked towards the forest temple. He narrowed his eyes as he drew his sword and sheild, and headed towards the Sacred Forest Meadow.

* * *

"What of Phantom Ganon?" Volvagia asked the poe sisters.

"Ganon banished him into the realm between dimensions when link defeated him." Replied Beth.

"No matter, Koume and Kotake are rounding up Bongo Bongo and will meet us at Hyrule Castle when the time comes."

* * *

Zelda and Ruto were listening at the forest temple door.

"What are they saying?" Asked Ruto, as Zelda listened with her ear against the door.

"They're going to resurrect all the temple guardians!" Said Zelda taking her ear away from the door.

"We've got to stop them!" Exclaimed Ruto as she flung open the door and ran in.

"Ruto no!" Said Zelda. But to Ruto's surprise, everyone had gone. She looked up to the ceiling and there as a large hole and you could she out and she the cloudy blue sky.

"They got away!" She said.

* * *

Link approched the forest temple warp platform and found Zelda and Ruto still waiting.

"What's happened?" He asked.

"Volvagia got away." Said Zelda. "And they're planning to summon the other temple guardians!"

"Have we got time to stop them?" Asked Link.

"We're not sure but they're all going to meet at Hyrule Castle so our best guess is to head there." Said Ruto.

Suddenley, Zelda felt a strong pain in her head.

"Are you alright?" Asked Link.

"Yes....I'm....fine...." Then she collapsed and Link and Ruto ran and kneeled by her side. "Terrible.... danger... at the castle...." With those last words, Zelda's head flopped to the side.

"She's uncounscious!" Said Navi. "We've got to do something!"

"Navi," Said Link quickly. "Fly ahead to Kokiri Forest and tell them to get any medical supplies ready and I'll bring Zelda."

"Right." Replied Navi, zooming off.

Link looked back down at Zelda and scooped her limp body up into his arms and slowly made his way with Ruto in the direction of the forest.

* * *

"SIR!" Shouted Midoro, as he burst into the thrown room.

"What is it?" Said the King.

"An army of monsters are heading this way sir!"

"Monsters?" Exclaimed the King.

"Yes! Hoards of poes led by the Poe sisters, and Morpha and Volvagia are heading this way!" Panted the guard.

"Call all the guards together," ordered the King. "And send out a messanger to find Link, the Hero Of Time!"

As the messanger rode away on a horse away from the castle, Volvagia, Morpha and armies of Poes approched the castle....

This next portion was written by Jessica Wilson.

Zelda's eyes fluttered open as she regained concious. "Father!" She cried and sat up with a start. She looked down to see many small children huddled around her, giggling.

"Where is Link?" She asked.

"He left for Hyrule Castle" answered Sari. "A royal messanger was sent for him. He wanted to take you to the castle, but we wouldn't allow it."

"Ruto?"

"I'm here Zelda. Link asked me to stay until you came to. We are to join him as soon as your ready."

Zelda stood up and said, "Let's go."

* * *

Link stood by Epona at the entrance to the Market. The evil beings were already at the castle. A dark cloud was forming overhead. He turned to the stallion and said, "Epona, this is very important. Go back to the edge of the Kokiri Forest and wait for Zelda and Ruto. Bring them both here. Do you understand?"

The horse looked at him carefully and grunted her reply. She gave him a small nod of her head and galloped towards the forest.

Link looked back to the castle. The picture looked all to familiar. It seemed that he had just walked through these doors to face the King of Evil. Was it even possible that he could return from the shadows Link had sent him to. Link shuddered at the thought and walked across the bridge.

* * *

Zelda and Ruto walked quickly to the entrance to Hyrule Field. The Kokiri streamed behind them to see them off.

"Zelda!"

Zelda turned to see Sari looking up at her. "Take this."

Zelda held up a small ocarina.

"This is the ocarina Link carried around as a child. He told me he had the Ocarina of Time and did not use this one anymore. It still holds great magic and can be of a great use to you. Please take it."

Zelda, speechless, held the ocarina and looked carefully at it. A image of the triforce gleamed on the mouth-piece.

"I only know but a few songs. Link was going to teach me all he knew, but as you know, we never got around to that."

"Here." Replied Sari and gave her a scroll. "These are all the songs of Hyrule. You can travel to wherever you choose. Link also has his own song in which you can speak to him. I never played it because I did not want to bother him on his quest."

Zelda glanced down the scroll. She could go anywhere! Ruto looked over her shoulder. "I do believe we should head over to the castle now. Don't you?"

"Yes" Zelda agreed.

"Is there a song to take us to the castle?" Asked Ruto.

"Right here!"

Zelda took the Ocarina in her hands and played a slow mysterious melody. An greenish light surrounded them and they were taken from the forest.

* * *

Zelda opened her eyes to a horrifying site. They were in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle. Volvagia looked up and hissed, "Get them."

This next portion was written by Tom Holloway.

Zelda looked in horror at the figures: The Poe Sisters, Many Poes, Volvagia, Morpha, Bongo Bongo, Koutake and Koume - She was at their mercy!

"Quick! Into the Castle" shouted the King as he burst through the outer door looking amazed at Princess Ruto and Zelda standing in the courtyard

"Father!" shouted Zelda as she and Ruto ran in and closed the wooden door

Volvagia suddenly breathed fire at the door, and it burned to smithereens! Bongo Bongo started to hit the castle with his hands and the whole place shook. The Twinrova sisters started to attack, and the army of Poes also attacked.

Zelda, Ruto and the King ran down the corridors towards the throne room where an emergency meeting of the Hylian Senate was in progress. Darunia, King Zora and Nabooru were also present and Kaepora was watching too.

"Everyone! My daughter and the Zoran princess are here!" exclaimed the King.

"Ruto!" said King Zora, relieved.

"All the temple lords are on the attack at the South West tower!" the King said, "We must act! Where is Link, the Hero of Time?"

"I'm here, your highness!" said Link, running in from the outside.

"Good. We have made a plan. All of Hyrule is going to unite against these temple lords. The Gorons, Gerudos and Zoras. The Kokiri have not turned up-" The King stopped in mid-sentence as Saria warped in by using her Ocarina.

"Link!" shouted Saria. "We Kokiri cannot help you, but I will stand and fight for my people!"

"Thanks, Saria," Link replied. "Your highness, we will all fight! I will use all my power to stop the source of these monsters!"

"RIGHT! LET'S GO KICK SOME MONSTERS!" Shouted Darunia, summoning the Goron Warriors as they came up the stairs, armed with bombs and Biggoron swords.

Everyone in the room was shocked when about 100 poes came into the room, and started to attack everyone. "HYLIAN TROOPS! Deal with the Poes and the Poe Sisters!" shouted Link "GORON TROOPS! Go for Kotake and Koume! GERUDO TROOPS! Go for Bongo Bongo! ZORA WARRIORS! Go for Morpha! Saria, Zelda, Ruto, Darunia, Kaepora! Come with me! We're going for the big one, Volvagia!"

"I would fight with my warriors, but as we are going for Volvagia again, I will be with you!" replied Darunia

Link gave Darunia the Megaton Hammer and said "Darunia, give Saria, Ruto and Zelda a Sword. "I must go somewhere. I'll be back!"

"OK Brother, but do not go cucco now!" Darunia replied .

"Link, where are you going?" Zelda asked worriedly.

"The Temple of Time" Link replied.

Link hated leaving the whole of Hyrule up against the monsters, but this is the only way to victory. He ran inside and looked at the Door of Time. It was closed, but the three spiritual stones remained. He played the Song of Time and it opened. But then suddenly a beam of light shot out of the room behind the door.

"Link....Link... It's me. Rauru" said the Voice.

"Rauru! Where have you been?" Link replied "Hyrule is in its darkest hour!"

"Yes, Link. That is why I grant you this sword." he said softly "The Master Sword!"

"What happened to Ganondorf? Why are the lords alive?"

"Since Ganondorf was banished here- his spirit was still free. He pained for the day when he could return and destroy you. So he managed to use his powers to resurrect the Temple Lords by taking control of some fanatics to resurrect Volvagia. You must destroy all the Lords and then Volvagia, then you will reveal the spirit of Ganondorf. The new Phantom Ganon! But Ganondorf was so confident that his plan would suceed that he left the Triforce of Power with Volvagia! If you destroy him, you will win it!"

"I know what I must do!" Link replied.

"Trust Kaepora. He is a part of me in some way I can contact you through him!" Rauru said, and he faded way, the light dimmed.

Link picked up the Master Sword off the floor next to the pedestal and ran back up to the battleground.

This next portion was written by Kevin Makins.

Link ran back into Hyrule field to see a gaint war. The Zoras and Gorons were falling but the Gerudos were still strong.

Meenwhile in the castle the king was talking to himself. "All the chaos from the temple evil, what should I do." He looked out the window to see all the tribes falling. "We need a miricle to save us." said the king with a tear in his eye. He then heard the door open. "Who is there?" he said as he turned around. There stood a tall man carrying a sword. "Ganondorf, Link told me tales on how you were defeated. "No." said the man, "Not Ganon, Kaypora" he said.

"I am the leader of a new tribe of Hylians. Well we have an army hear. We came from death mountin crater. We... we were the one's who resurected Volvigia." "Get away!" whispered the King. "Wait..."said the Kaypora, "We set Hyrule wrong, and we are going to fix it!" "Very well." the king replided, "but how can one man fix it?"

Then from behind him came to more men. "Look outside." said one.

To the kings shock there was around 100 men fighting the armies of poes and evil monsters. "Now lets get those troops."

The king looked outside once more to see Link running flying into the battle field on Kaepora while thrashing at Volvigia. "Looks like back up has arrived!" the king said as he watched Link hit Bongo Bongo.

This next portion was written by Ted Anderson.

Link rolled up and lept off of Kaepora, his sword flashing brightly in the dark grime that surrounded him. He landed heavily right in front of Bongo Bongo, who was using his disembodied hands to try and sweep back the Gerudo warriors. The monster spotted him and tried to bring his hands around, but Link slashed at its glowing eye fiercely. He then dodged backward and joined the Gerudos, who were firing arrows at the creature's hands. Link spotted Nabooru and ran to her.

"Link!" she cried. "I don't suppose there's anything you can do about those hands?"

Link wordlessly pulled out his longshot and fired it off at the left hand. It struck with the meaty whack of metal in soft flesh, and the hand retreated for a moment, the pointed hook of the chain ripping out as it moved. Taking advantage of the situation, some of the Gerudos ran swiftly in and hit the eye a few times. Nabooru immediately shifted her aim to the other hand, while Link hefted his hookshot for another blow.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the left hand swung downward in a chopping motion and slammed into the ground with terrible force. Huge chunks of earth rained down as the shock threw the nearby soldiers to the ground, Link among them. He flew into the air and landed right next to the crater the hand had left.

"Link!" Nabooru shouted. In one flowing motion, she pulled herself up, ripped the sword out of her sheath and ran with blazing speed towards the boy, even as the hand came up for another strike. Nabooru came closer...closer...

The hand dropped with incredible speed and Nabooru threw her sword at the hand's soft palm. The sword pierced the skin and slid in all the way to the hilt. The hand clenched as in anger, even as Nabooru picked up Link and took him to the edge of the battle field. The attack continued. Kaepora swooped in at the eye as a blur.

Elsewhere, the battle was not going as planned. Morpha had taken up residence in the castle moat, where the Zoras were converging. Volvagia had swooped down and blasted the entire area with a blanket of fire, driving back the Zoras. Morpha took the time to lash out and smother the soldiers of Kaypora. The Zoras, seeing the dragon's power, backed off and went instead for Koume and Kotake. This left Morpha with control of the entire moat and no opposition.

Zelda, Ruto, Darunia, and Saria stared up at the dragon. Zelda and Ruto carried swords, Darunia carried the Megaton Hammer, and Saria carried nothing but the magic she held inside her.

As they watched, Volvagia flapped up the side of the castle until it was at the very top. She raged with flames, melting the marble stone and scoring it with black marks from her claws. Zelda sighed.

"I don't suppose there's anyone here who can fly?" she said wryly.

Saria heard a noise and turned around. "Not really, but I think there are more pressing concerns right now."

The others turned around. The four Poe sisters Joelle, Meg, Beth, and Amy were floating down to the ground next to the moat. Morpha also rose, encased in a tentacle of water.

"They're looking for a fight," Darunia said, the excitement in his voice rising. He hefted the Megaton Hammer in his massive hands.

"Well, try and keep away from that moat. Morpha's mentioned in some of the old legends, and he's never depicted as having a sweet side," Ruto said softly. She and Zelda both lifted their swords. They all shifted into fighting stances.

The Poes laughed, and as the four heros watched, they all disappeared, leaving only a torch hovering in midair. The torches flew out, and one struck Darunia on the chin.

"Spread out!" he roared. He lept at the nearest one, the hammer swinging at the torch. Zelda slashed experimentally with her sword, then lunged at the Poe in front of her. Ruto followed suit, while Saria spat ripples of green energy from her hands.

The four duels raged on, neither side gaining an advantage, nor giving one. They would have continued on like this for days, if Darunia hadn't been backed up by his opponent.

"Stand still, damn you!" He swung the Hammer at the torch, not noticing that he was getting closer and closer to the moat. The Poe chuckled invisibly and backed up further still. Darunia didn't notice the thin water tentacle slipping along the ground until it had wrapped around his ankle. He yelled and looked down, only to be given a whack by the Poe's torch. The tentacle thickened with more water and pulled Darunia to the ground.

"Help! He's got me!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Zelda looked over and ran, dropping her sword on the ground. She grabbed Darunia's hand. Saria slid over and did the same. The four sisters backed off, content to watch. The two girls pulled and pulled at Darunia's hands, but the big Goron was slowly slipping closer and closer to the edge. Saria and Zelda strained, digging their heels into the ground even as they were slipping.

Ruto, off to the side, took a deep breath, and ran at full speed to jump into the moat.

"RUTO!" Zelda shrieked. Another tentacle lifted above the moat. Inside, Ruto was swimming around and trying to hit Morpha. The tentacle around Darunia's ankle grew thin and slithered back into the moat. Morpha obviously needed all the matter he could get Ruto was a fighter.

Zelda, Darunia, and Saria moved back from the water, Darunia and Zelda grabbing their weapons on the way. Darunia gaped as he watched Ruto and Morpha battle it out in the tentacle.

"What is she doing?" he said. "She'll be killed!"

"No, she won't," Saria replied. "She's the only one of us who could take on Morpha in his own element. She can't drown, and as long as she's in the water, Morpha can't strike at her."

But the Kokiri's words were wrong.

Even as they watched, Morpha drew back his armored shell, seeming to retreat. Ruto propelled herself at the amoeba, only to have it lunge at her and wrap itself around her face.

"It's shrinking," Zelda cheered. "Ruto's finally gotten it!"

"No...look! It's not shrinking! It's going into her mouth!" Saria cried.

It was true. The amoeba, knowing that it couldn't strike at the Zora in the normal way, decided to go for a full frontal attack. It poured itself down her throat, sinking into her stomach and trying to choke her in the throat. As the last slimy droplet slid down her throat, the water tentacle dissolved as Morpha lost control of it. With an effort, Ruto threw herself onto the stone. She knelt there choking, trying to spit out the monster that had invaded her body. Saria rushed to her side, and with obvious disgust, stuck her whole hand down the girl's throat.

Morpha had completely filled Ruto's windpipe, jamming it with its gooey self. Saria tried to pull at the jellified mass without sucess.

"I can't pull it out," she shouted. "Morpha's clogged her throat."

Zelda ran over. "Go with Darunia and hold off the Poes. I can help her." Saria looked at Zelda and saw the utter conviction in the girl's eyes. She nodded and ran to join the Goron King. Zelda took a deep breath and started to chant.

A brilliant light surrounded Ruto. Slowly the girl stopped thrashing about, and grew limp. The light lifted her off of the ground, intensifying and growing. The light grew dim and hardened, much like the crystal that had imprisioned Zelda. Sweat stood out on Zelda's forehead as she chanted.

And then the light was gone. Ruto fell to the ground on her back, her sea-blue skin darkened to the color of a pearl. She coughed a few times. Water bubbled out of her opened mouth, and she took a deep breath. Zelda helped her sit up.

"What did you do?" the teenager gasped.

"The only thing I could think of," Zelda replied. "I forced your body to absorb Morpha into your blood."

"You mean I've got that ugly thing in me?" Ruto nearly shrieked. Zelda nodded. Ruto gaped.

"Of course, some strange side effects could show up..." Ruto cut her off.

"I'm not complaining," she said. "Look at the moat."

Zelda looked and stared. Another water tentacle had sprouted, forming a strange shape.

It had formed the shape of Ruto, as though the girl was part of the tentacle. Zelda looked from the tentacle to Ruto and back again. Ruto grinned.

"I think that when I absorbed Morpha, I absorbed his power as well." Her smile grew. "This could be fun."

"Ruto!" Darunia shouted from where he was fighting off one of the Poes. "There's one behind you!" The two girls turned. A torch was flying at them with incredible speed. Ruto stood and pointed her hand, palm up, at the ghost. The torch continued, unheeding.

The tentacle with Ruto's image cracked like a whip at the approaching ghost, beating it mercilessly. Ruto twitched a finger, and the tentacle wrapped itself around the ghost.

Ruto said to Zelda without turning, "Go! I can handle this one!"

Zelda stared a moment more at the amazing spectacle, and then rushed to join the fight.

This next portion was written by Ryan Bowling.

As Zelda was running away, she felt something wet on her leg. She looked down to see a water tentacle had rapped around her leg and was holding on very tight.

"What are you doing?" Zelda asked. She looked up from the tentacle to Ruto and gasped in horror. Here eyes were lined with an evil red. She had a snickering grin on her face.

"Foolish girl," Ruto spoke with a low, strangled voice. I also absorbed Morpha's mind. Or, this helpless Zora has absorbed me. What a foolish mistake, young princess, for it will lead to your doom!" And with that, Ruto swept up Zelda with a tentacle and leaded into the moat. She and Zelda swam deaper and deaper until they disappeared.

"Zelda! Ruto!" Saria cried as she turned her head just in time to see them sink into the moat. I've got to tell Link!

But at that moment, Link was having his own troubles. He, along with the Gerudos, and Bongo Bongo were in a fight to the death. Just then, he heard a piercing melody that seemed to come from everywhere yet nowhere.

"Link!" he heard the faint voice of Zelda. "Help me Link!"

"What? Zelda? Where are you?" he said, also in a voice that seemed far away. "How are you talking to me?"

"I am playing Your Song, the song Saria taught me. Help me, Princess Ruto has taken me captive in the Water Temple. Help me!"

"Ruto? Why is she doing that?"

"Help me! Heeelllllp mmmeeeeee..." Zelda's voice faded away.

This next portion was written by Twyla.

Link immediatly had a sudden burst of energy, helping to deliver the final blow into Bongo Bongo's invisible eye.

A incredibly piercing scream came from the depths of the huge monster. It was beaten just in time for the Hero of Time to aid the fallen Saria.

"Link...Ruto has taken Zelda, you must hurry to catch up before it is too late. Don't forget that the Morpha has only so much control over the Sage of Water's body! Hurry!" With that Saria turned back to Beth (poe).

Link also turned in time to see Amy making an invisible sweep for him. Caught off guard, he shielded to blow only to be hit from behind by Kotake. Link hit the ground with a thud & shielded the next shot with the mirror shield. Magic lit the armor with bright red.

But the Hero had no time to waste with the sister. He pulled out the Giant's Knife and sliced Amy; she melted away (lighting the torch far away in the Temple).

Link made his way slowly through the fierce battle: confronting many poes and destroying them with haste.

He finally broke away from the crowd and played the Serenade of Water with the Ocarina. Link arrived on the platform only to be greeted by those jumping little monsters (that are really annoying!!) Link quickly destroyed them, then pulled on the iron boots and sank to the bottom of Lake Hylia. Entering the Water Temple, he immediatly noticed a difference: instead of water filling the Temple, it was filled with the jelly water! Link could not swim, so he pulled on the blue tunic, and took off the iron boots. Yet he could still not float to the top.

Instead, he pulled himself the whole way by hookshot, eventually making to the top and entering the place where he had first defeated Morpha.
