Out of the Barrier

You've rescued Alric, but you're not in the clear yet. You still have to escape out of the desert canyon.
You've got the same troops as in The Five Champions plus an Alric on auto pilot. When you first arrive on the scene you'll have a whole bunch of Ghols to deal with. Get that Dwarf on them right off the bat. Don't try to kill them all, just get a bottle into each group. And don't split your Berserkers up, they are the only things between you and cleaver death. Keep them with your troops. This is one of the biggest mistakes, besides bad Dwarfing, that co-opers make. They split their Zerks up and run after the Ghols. Invariably, a Ghol or two runs past them and cuts down a member of your party. Berserkers are walking cuisinarts, keep them together to guard your team and watch the fur fly.
Next stop, Soulless on a ridge. Move North East and you'll find some Soulless on a mountain ridge. They're easy targets for your Archer. No problem here. However, just around the corner is a small band of Myrmidons and Soulless. Also there are some more Soulless on the peak North of you. But stay put on that little mound before the point of the ridge. A pack of Ghols will run by. Put some arrows in them if you like, but let them go their way. Don't worry, they'll be back. What you want to do now is sucker the Myrmidons into that curve in front of you created by the point of the mountain ridge. A perfect spot for bombing. Remember that all you have to do is weaken them for your Zerks. Do not blow it by trying to kill everything with your Dwarf. The Archer has a nice range and can usually shoot the Myrms a few times to get their attention. Once you kill the Myrms you can move forward and trigger the Soulless on the hill top. Just shoot them. But be on guard. The Ghols will come rushing back in as you fight the Soulless. Keep your Zerks away from the Soulless or you'll get them shot up. You've got a Veteran Archer Hero, use him.
Now on to the Bow of Stoning. By now you'll probably need to heal someone. The Bow is South East, but do not try to get it yet. There are a number of Myrms and Soulless you need to take care of first. Don't go near the Bow, or Ghols will pour out of the temple and kill you. I usually set a few satchels in the declevity of the sand mound opposite the temple. This will trigger the enemy to attack. Get your Dwarf out of there quick and put Archer on Soulless. Hopefully you've satcheled just right and you can blow them all up. I didn't. But I got 3 Soulless with them. Soulless are your #1 enemy. Once they're gone, your Zerks are pretty safe.

How to get the Bow and live to use it? When you get close to the Bow, around fifteen Ghols will come pouring out of the temple looking for new heads to put in their shoulder bags. There are two ways to handle this that work for me. The first is what's in the film. But the setup is the same for both.
Put your Zerks on the mound opposite the temple with the Dwarf between and just in front of them. Put the Archer off to the side just a bit.
  1. Lob a bottle out to get your range, then run the Dwarf out to that spot and start laying satchels on your way back to the Zerks. Do this fast or you'll find your head in a bag. When the Ghols come out you should be ready to turn and fire. Boom! Now who's head will fit in a bag?
  2. Same set up as #1. Lob a bottle out to get your range, then run a Zerk there and back. If you anticipate their advance and bomb the ground where you've already targeted, you can get 2 maybe 3 bottles into them. More than enough to weaken them for the Zerks.
Go get your bow.
Now you've got three more armies to face, but you only have to fight one. Head North East and you'll come to a mound with a dark splotch like an asterisk. Make your stand here. There will be an army to your East and one to your North. You'll need to kill the Northern army, but stay clear of the Eastern one. The North is made up of six Soulless, Myrms and Ghols. You've got twelve shots with that new bow of yours. Make them count (it doesn't work on Soulless). Run a Zerk out to trigger them and stone them as they come at you. Be careful, those Soulless will rip up your Zerks. Once all the ground units are down, back off and let the Archer take out the Soulless, and you're done.
Stay along the Eastern edge of the ridge and head North, careful not to piss off the other army. Stay moving North along the cliff face and you'll find the last big army. As you get near it, Alric will step in to take care of business. Once he blows everyone up, head for the road up the hill and keep going till Alric spells you away.

Here's the film.
