Skills and Guilds

Guilds

Let's go over guilds first. There are three different types of guilds in Angalon: Occupational, Layman, and Race.
An occupational guild is just what it says: the guild that is your occupation. Some of these include knights, pirates, mages, shaman, and priests.
Layman guilds are supplementary guilds that usually give you less advantages and skills. These include mercenaries, buccaneers(layman form of pirate guild), and magikers(layman form of mages guild).
Race guilds are guilds that only take characters of one certain race. Unfortunately, not every race in Angalon has a race guild yet. Humans, orcs, hobbits have race guilds so far. Dwarves, elves, and gnomes are waiting on it.
Some guilds are quite simple to join. You may be able to just walk into the guild hall and sign up. Other guilds are very secretive and may require some digging before you even know WHERE to sign up.
Take some time to decide what guild you want to join. Ask around: people will be only too glad to give you their opinions on the subject. Do not take guilds lightly, as the penalty for leaving a guild can be as severe as death.

Skills

Skills are very important in Angalon. With all the money you raise from hunting, the most useful place to put it would be in your skills. Depending on what guild you join, your skills may not be the same as anyone else's. From a basic synopsis of the guild, you should be able to determine what types of skills the guild will teach you. Take the time and energy to raise one weapon skill to a decent level. This will help you to fight tougher things and gain more experience and money. Also note that as your skills gets higher, it costs more and more money to raise them.
