HPA-04 Space Hargun Space Power Armour

BACKGROUND
The HPA-04 Space Hargun was a development of the GMP’s VR-021 Hargun Cycle. The Tactical Space Corps developed the Space Hargun for use in support, lunar patrol, maintenance, and light combat duty. The Hargun’s head was replaced and the thrusters were replaced with a larger thruster backpack. The transformation switch was disabled, but it would be possible for the Hargun to be modified to transform (1D4 Hours to modify). The Hargun served with the TSC from 2027. During the second Robotech war, many were pressed into combat as close-in defence units to protect the TSC’s ships from attacks. Unfortunately, they were quite outmatched by the Bioroids. Most of the survivors were destroyed in the Invid Invasion, or the Southern Cross’ attack on the Reflex Point a few years later.
One Variant of the Space Hargun was developed. This mecha equipped to function as the cockpit of a modified SF-9A Pirate space fighter, and equipped with a computer uplink like the MODAT-series prototypes. The fighter was used and destroyed during Colonel Andrews’ abortive Coup in December 2028 in the far east sector. After the coup, the Space Hargun went missing, and has yet to be recovered.

WEAPON SYSTEMS
- GU-11S 55mm Gun Pod. The Space Hargun uses a short-barrelled version of the GU-11 Gun pod used by the VF-1 Veritech.
- Purpose: Assault
- Range: 600m
- Mega-Damage: 3D6 MD for a short burst, 6D6 MD for a long burst or 1D6x10 MD for a full melee burst
- Rate of Fire: Equal to the total hand-to-hand attacks of the pilot.
- Payload: 200 rounds per clip equals 20 short bursts, 10 long bursts, or 5 full melee bursts.
- Magnetic Grapples. The Space Hargun is equipped with four towlines, each with a magnetic grappling head. The grapples can be used for towing vehicles, climbing, or to capture small mecha. Two of the grapples launch from the front of the shoulders, and the other two from the rear.
- Purpose: Towing
- Range: 10m
- Mega-Damage: No damage, however, the target is -3 to dodge until they can escape (roll over the Attackers to-hit roll, with no bonuses)
- Rate of Fire: Once per round.
- Parrying Shield. The Space Hargun is also equipped with a heavy parrying shield to help protect it from damage. The shield can be used to parry any incoming attack (missile, projectile, energy, etc), and gives the pilot a +2 to parry. The shield can not regenerate, and must be repaired or replaced.
- Hand to Hand Combat. Rather than use any weapons, the Space Hargun can opt to engage in hand to hand combat.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE SPACE HARGUN:
- Radar: Range: 30 km. Standard operation.
- Radio/Video Communications: Wide band, directional radio and video telecast capabilities. Range: 1000km, or can be boosted by satellite.
- Laser Targeting System: Close range; 1 km
- Combat Computer: Calculates, stores & monitors data on the control panel computer screen or Heads-up display
- External Audio Pickup: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m). A sound amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 300 feet away.
- Loudspeaker: A loudspeaker system is built into the craft, which can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.
- Optics: Infrared: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but detectable by the mecha's sensors. The system allows the pilot to detect hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.
- Optics: Nightvision: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.
- Optics: Thermal Imager: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and converts that data into a false-colour visible image. The system enables the pilot to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10% bonus to pilots using a tracking skill.
- Protoculture Engine: The Space Hargun runs off Protoculture power cells, in much the same manner as the Cyclone. The Space Hargun uses four cells, two in the body and one in each leg. Typically, the Space Hargun will last about 114 operational hours before cell replacement. Constant leaping or flying will not wear out the cells quicker, as the Space Hargun uses dedicated cells to power it’s thrusters. Normally, the Space Hargun will alert its pilot when power is running low.
HAND TO HAND COMBAT BONUSES FOR SPACE HARGUN COMBAT TRAINING:
- 2 attacks per melee (plus those of the pilot)
- Add one addtional attack at levels four, eight and twelve
- +1 on initative
- +1 to strike
- +2 to parry, +4 with shield
- +3 ro dodge
- +2 to rolll with a punch or impact, reducing damage by half
- Critical strike same as pilot's hand to hand.
