What is it?
We are a guild playing on the MMORPG Guild Wars. The story of the origins actually started a few years before the development of the game, in 1999, when a few friends got together to start a tabletop game in the campaign setting of Ravenloft. The friends have stuck together since then, even through military service (1 in the Navy and 2 in the Army), war (2 went to Iraq), girlfriends, breakups, college, time overseas, jobs in different states, and life being just plain mean. These friends' present characters were originally the characters played in that campaign. Today, they consist of the leader and officers of the guild. Larloch Nagash is played by the original DM. The Wind Whisperer (known on GW as "Airboy Jack"), Scott Winters, and Boba Kanoosh were all in the campaign. -
The Purpose of the Guild
First and foremost, the purpose of the guild is to keep in contact, since there is often quite a distance separating us. Second, since actual role-playing is out of the picture, Guild Wars and the guild take the place of rolling the dice as well as giving the DM a break and a chance to chill out with the players. After that, it's all about having fun and hanging out, the way it should be. We're not competitive, and we don't really care about that, either. -
The Rules of the Guild
There's three rules in the Mists of Ravenloft-
1. No one talks about Ravenloft.
2. There are no rules.
3. Naked dancing rules.
Out side of this, anything goes. We like it that way. -
The Emblem
In terms of heraldry, the coat-of-arms of the guild would be described as "a rose and rapier, red and sword-crossed, over a black cross standard on a black field." Really, it doesn't stand for anything, but it looks cool. Larloch picked it out with the help of Winters. It can be seen at the left and right of the title of each page.
