The Pick of the Month for November is... The Immortal by Electronic Arts!
Fans of the 3/D view of Diablo rejoice, this is one to check out. The Immortal is an adventure game with a view similar to Diablo, but that's where the similarities stop. You play an old wizard, wandering through an old dungeon searching for the "other" old wizard named Mordamir. When you get into a fight with a creature, a street fighting-type screen comes out, and you duke it out with the baddie.
The graphics in this game are dark, but good considering the game was produced in 1990 by what, was at the point, a virtually unknown company. As for sound, the effects are well-done, screams are actually recognizable. The music isn't that innovative from a musician's standpoint, but it's not that big of a deal. With tons of monsters, bosses, and traps, this game has challenge written all over it. Overall, this game is certainly worth the $5 price tag at Funcoland.
