Ilharess Mynara's Secret Recipe for Good Hp's

Now, this has not been proven as effective all the time, but by using these methods, I have gained 94 hp's with my elven 7/11/12 F/M/T. I also am running a Cleric who is currently 6th lvl with 57 hps. The method is this...when you are ready to gain a lvl...go die. Get sent to the gate with as few hp's as possible...preferably 2. Then, right before you train...cast a Bless on yourself. I don't know whether this method is a glitch, or whether I've just been having good luck with my rolls, but it won't hurt to try.

(Editor's Note: The staff of NWN deny that any "special formulas" work to gain more hitpoints or to give better saves. There is another rumour in the realm that states that your saves get better (after maxxing) the more XPs you get. I have asked "Da prof 'o de realms" (NW Aerich) about these questions, and he does not put much credence to them. He is checking into them, however. (Perhaps the info for XPs is put into a memory area allocated for adjucating saves) - - who knows? In any event, MANY people swear by secret formulas, and many of these formulas seem to work! Try em! My secret formula is to perform the "Rain Dance of Hitpoint Gaining" around my computer desk before training, but so far it has not worked! I have 70 hits while Mynara has 94....who would you listen to? ::shrugs:: So what do I know?)

LORD ZOR'AKs TRAINING CENTER (Part 1)

So many of you have asked me about PvP, I am having to post my tips here, rather than try and EMail a dozen+ people. So....why do so many people like to PvP? Well, nothing is harder than to fight other players...a direct test of skills and strategy...nothing quite compares to it. The thrill of combat against a wily foe is much greater than that against a "stupid" monster. Once you maxx, and explore the realms, you have seen and done everything! But each PvP is different, and a challenge.

Remember that a low level spellcaster can win against maxxed people! It can happen!

First off, the most important thing to remember in PvP is to have a "good attitude". There is absolutely nothing that will annoy other PvPers more than whining, and CADding. Remember to be a good sport! CADding is where you just quit a combat in the middle of it. It is considered to be the most extreme act of cowardice that one may commit. This usually is "self-punting" in order to not have to deal with going to the temple to unfeeb yourself. If you can't take a feeb (or 2) and pay for it, there is no reason why you should be involving yourself in PvP. Everyone PvPing is doing it for the fun of it...keep this in mine...and ALWAYS remember to stay in character during PvP! If I am in PvP and become "held" or "fumbled" (helpless), my banter does not change. I am as arrogant and snide as I am while tossing feebs around! Always keep in mind that PvP is a continual thing...not just one encounter, but many encounters over many months.

Winning/losing just one fight does not prove/disprove PvP ability. Everyone will blow an easy save once in a while. The trick is to win, and win consistently. This will be a semi-regular column for me...so I can impart my vast experiences to you ;>

Future topics will include: proper prepping, spell choices in combat, "cheating", group PvP, and others. If anyone wishes a certain subject to be discussed, just EMail me!

GOSSIP CORNER

With all of the new members, rumors abound of a new house starting. So who will head the house? What will the Ilharessen think? Stay tuned, kids! Also, which House is ready to recieve a new Ilharess? The political face of the TOL is changing....

Rumour states that one of the new Yathrin attacked Zor'ak in the Hills...who and why?

Those persons who seek to go to the ISLAND will have to climb the MOUNTAIN first...

There is some confusion as to the role of the TOL in the Duergar/Dwarf war...what will happen? Many single Drow are allying with the Crakskuls against the Axepeaks, and it seems that this was taken as a sign of official involvment!

Sources report that Zorachus (a bastard son of Zorak) is attempting to incite the OGSies into declaring war on the TOL. The anti-Drow rhetoric is simmering, and only time will tell if it will ignite into open hostilities.

DROW OF THE WEEK

I will profile a different Drow in each issue of LC. In order to be profiled, you must be a member (non-probationary) of the TOL, and have an official "title" in your respective House. If you fit this description, EMail me with a short "bio" to be printed. If you have a question as to how the bio should look, refer to the bios already printed (of Zorak and Mynara) in earlier issues.

CLASSIFIEDS

Drow wishing help seeking certain items (ticket/password/badge/cloak/etc.) should EMail me. Their names and what they seek will be published here, so you can get a war party together.

SUBMISSIONS

I will welcome any and all submissions of articles/editorials/etc. by any member (Probationary or not) of the TOL. Gossip can be submitted also (under an anonymous screen name). Note that the editors of LC reserve the right to edit any and all material, and can refuse to publish material considered "offensive" or out of place. LC will NOT become a place for name calling or for airing feuds. The number of submissions (and the amount of my free time) will determine how often an issue of LC will come out. Anyone who is interested in having a regular "column" should contact me and submit stuff! This newsletter is for all of us. Send stuff in! There is no official LC staff yet, only me as editor. I will accept just about anything! Please send all submissions to "Zorak".

::waiting at mailbox for more submissions::

DISCLAIMER

All information contained herein is considered non-official by the TOL. Any and all official TOL business will be handled by Shael and the Talthalra of Ilharessen. LC is willing to post "official" releases by the TOL. Any Ilharess can submit official House "press releases" to LC, and it will be labeled as "official" only if the submission is clearly labeled as such.
