Getting Started

This section covers the basics and not-so basics of Tibia. Feel free to email me if I left something out.

DOWNLOADING TIBIA 4.0

1. Click on the above link to go to the main Tibia homepage.
2. Follow the link at the bottom of the main Tibia homepage to download the Tibia 4.0 client.
3. Once the file is received, type the filename in the Tibia directory on your hard drive. This is a self-extracting file.
4. In Windows, created a folder/icon for Tibia with the tibia.exe file in your Tibia directory.
5. Run your internet dial-in program (Internet Dialer, WinSock, etc...)
6. Once connected, double-click on your Tibia icon.

Getting Started

1. When Tibia starts, you will see two choices: "New Game" & "Journey Onward"
2. Choose "New Game" to begin a new game. Click "Journey Onward" if you have already began a game and with to continue where you left off the last time you played.
3. If you click "New Game", you will have to enter you first and last name, a username, area where you live, email address, a password, and you'll have to create an outfit for your player. If you click "Journey Onward", then you'll need to enter your username and password.

Once you have entered your "New Game" information, your screen will change to the "birds-eye-view" in which Tibia is played. In the center of the screen you will see a character wearing the same clothes as you picked out. Now click with both mouse buttons at the same time on your character. Some on-screen text will appear saying "YourName, 1. Level". This is how you can identify other characters you see on Tibia. This will tell you the person's name and what Level they are at.

Moving Around

Moving around in Tibia is very easy. All you do is left-click on the spot where you want to go. If you want to go up some stairs, left click on the staircase. If you want to go up a ladder, right-click on the right end of the first step of the ladder. If you want to go down a ladder, left-click on the hole where the ladder is.

Chests, Crates, etc...

To look inside a chest, crate, bag, dead body, etc... just right click on it!

Moving objects, Taking objects

In the upper righthand corner of your screen, you'll see a small window that shows you your health info, what is in your hands, etc... When you first start out, that window shows that you are carrying a torch in one hand, and a club in the other hand. If you see an object on the ground and YOU WANT IT, there are 2 things you can do. You can either "left-click and drag" it into an empty hand, or, if you have a bag or backpack, you can click and drag it to your bag or backpack in the small info window in the upper-righthand corner.
