You have entered the MUD. Now you are standing on a market place, ready to explore this new world. But wait. get yourself a scrap of paper and a pencil. It may sound trivial, but you might get lost! Draw a little dot for each room, a line for each direction, and use abbrevations for important things like wells, shops, pubs, smith's.
Morisot has a walking command: "go". You have to "go west", "go north". Simply typing "west" or "north" will only result in a line telling you: "What?" - The MUD doesn't unterstand these commands. But you can use predefines aliases: n, e, s, w, ne, nw... try them!
The next thing you should think about is: where can you get food and water? Water should be a minor problem. You can drink from any well, brook, spring, or even from most rivers. Later, when you begin to explore the world, you can carry a waterskin with you. Hm, food... well, as long as this MUD is in beta test, you can use a nice command: "ration". This will create some food for you. But this command might vanish soon. You will need money to buy food. You will then buy your meals at a pub.
How to get money? Well, what about working? Walk around and "ask" some people "about work". In some cases, you will need your own tools for working, and you don't have money to buy tools. For this reason, your first job will be a simple one, and not paid very well. But this will change soon. Work, and people will begin to like you. Save money for some tools, get a better job, and you will get more money for your work. Besides, working will make you stronger and you will improve your constitution.
Another important thing: go out and find friends! Introduce to other people. Perhaps you want to use an alias for that purpose. Here is an example. Of course you can (and even should) alter the text:
you type: alias intme introduce me as (insert your name here) with say Young adventurer, lonely and far away from home.(All in one single line, of course.) Now type "intme" and look at the effect: Most NPCs (Non Player Characters) will respond with an introduction of themselves. You should only remember the most important NPCs, like the smith, the saddler, or people you are working for. Your memory is limited, and after a while you won't be able to remember more names.
Try to find other players, make friends with them, do a bit of roleplaying and explore the world of Morisot with them. Have fun.
