Age: 20 Spectrum Codename: GREEN Description: At first glance, tall, blond-haired Jonah is a quiet, studious young man, unlike his carefree brother, Dakota. Although he prefers to sit back with a good book, he is no stranger to having fun and is something of a practical joker. He has a stubborn streak that shows up when things aren't going the way he'd like. He has a great memory and if caught without the right words may just quote someone famous. Powers: Jonah's powers are entirely magic-based. Because the majority of the team does not have flight capability, Jonah's teleportation capabilities are very important. Not completely certain how he does some of the things he can do, he relies on some traditional magic tricks to make things happen, i.e., he can pull just about anything he wants from a hat, bag, pocket, or (his personal favourite) from behind Yellow's ear. History: While in elementary school, he became fascinated with the illusion type of magic of Houdini and David Copperfield. His interest grew as he started performing his own illusions for parties and school. In high school, he became friends with the drama teacher who was a professional magician. It was this teacher who first noticed that Jonah's abilities seemed to extend beyond simple illusions. However, despite his incredible abilities, he has absolutely no idea how he does it. Unknown to him, within Jonah's ancestry going back thousands of years, every seven generations have demonstrated an uncanny proficiency with magic. Usually this information has been passed from generation to generation and anticipated when it manifests itself. Unfortunately, Jonah's father was adopted and has never wanted to discover his roots so tracing the family tree is almost impossible. Unknown to Jonah, he is the firstborn son in the seventh generation. The last ancestor to demonstrate magical proficiency was born in 1816 and was, coincidentally, also named Jonah. Jonah was recruited in Waterloo, Ontario by Hannah after she discovered his younger brother Dakota, who has incredible mental abilities. He was a student at the University of Waterloo at the time, studying English and history. |
