Name: Riley Branson Age: 19 Spectrum Codename: RED Description: Riley is a handsome brown-haired, blue-eyed young man with a lean, lanky runners build. He is good-natured and friendly and always quick with a grin and encouraging word. As Red, Riley wears a white body suit with red accents and belt. Like all members of SPECTRUM, he does not wear a mask, believing Hannah's assurances that friends and relatives will be protected. Powers: Riley is fast, period. He is capable of running at blinding speeds, with enhanced perception and reflexes. When his powers are active, an energy field surrounds him, reducing friction and protecting him from impact with objects. History: Riley has always been fast. Even as a youngster he ran faster than his peers and naturally progressed to the star of the track and field team. Raised in a strong family environment, Riley shared his concerns about the sudden bursts of incredible speed he was beginning to achieve in his late teens. His father coached him to develop his talent much like one might nurture musical or artistic talent so that he could control the speed. Riley passed up a scholarship at an American University because he did not feel it was fair to continue to use his powers in competition. He met Hannah White in Toronto while running at the university track. She was the first to define his abilities as being the result of a benevolent mutation and invited him to join her new team. He accepted hesitantly but has discovered a real purpose for his life through the team's activities.
