    Description/Image:

An apparently joyful spirit, Jinath meets most glances with a wink and a smile. He cuts an appealing figure, tall, tanned and muscular. He wears only a pair of richly colored indigo shorts. They fit snugly and he seems inordinately proud of his body. Indeed, his skin is softer than most catelves, as if he put something on it to keep it that way. He's a rich brown color, tanned throughout either by Nature or birth but terribly attractive none-the-less. Jin is, frankly, pretty--not rugged, not handsome--pretty. Oh, he's muscular enough, he's done his share of hard living, but he's still undeniably pretty. His hair is a soft, sandy brown, curly all over with ringlets along his forehead. There's absolutely nothing he can do about it and he's all the more cute for it. His face is soft and vaguely feminine. He's not female, obviously, but there's something about the set of his eyes, the slant of his cheekbones, the pout of his lips. . .His eyes are deep green and terribly friendly. Judging by his eyes alone, he's never meet a stranger. On his ears are two double-hoop earrings. Small jewelry, they don't get in the way, but are decidedly for the sheer joy of self-decoration.

    Background:

Jinath was born to the catelves Arrano and Teska. While the couple never chose to lifemate, they got along well enough to raise Jinath and his younger sister Lynthone together. Arrano was a bit of a talespinner, regaling his kits with stories of great hunts, lost friends and the dangers and wonders of the jungle. Teska was a tanner, more prone to simply shake her head at Arrano's tales than join in on them. But she too had her tales that she whispered in Jin's ear as he drifted off to sleep; stories of his ancestors, her dreams for his future. Outwardly, his parents were opposite: Arrano outgoing and boisterous, Teska quiet and practical. Jinath grew up a mix of both: as outgoing as his father ever was, but trained by his mother to be skilled at tanning.

When Jin was just a kit, he was wandering alone by the river. He knew he wasn't supposed to be there alone, but so long as no one found out. . .He was happily splashing about when he heard a pitiful mewing from nearby. Seaching the bushes, he found a young panther kit, shivering and wet. Deciding that, obviously, this kit was meant for him, Jinath pulled her from the bushes and carted her home. Trying to explain to Teska just where he'd found Shiver (for that was what he named her and she didn't object) was a bit difficult and he was confined to camp for awhile and strictly watched, but Shiver was his well and proper so it wasn't so bad after all.

As he grew to adulthood, Jinath's inquisitive, friendly personality developed freely. While not a taleteller like his father, Jin has a deep desire to know what's going on with those around him. You could almost call him a gossip. He'd never hurt anyone willingly, but he so very much loves knowing that occassionally he lets something slip. He's notoriously helpful, rarely has he been known to so much as mutter an unkind word. Some say he is overly generous, but it's simply his nature. He has always been thus.

Over the years he's taken lovemates, though none of them female, but rarely for long and certainly not for life. It's not that he doesn't enjoy companionship, he loves it in fact, but no one has been able to do more than capture his eye and not his heart. He's not yet Recognized, but would love kits of his own some day. For now, he lives his life day-to-day and does what he can for his tribe.
