It was a cloudy day on the 16th of april
1943. Ubermacs battalion of crack SS troops had very high morale, for
that day they obliterated the Russian forces lead by the commander known
as FenceH. But the day was young and little did they know of the carnage
to come. The scenario was set....the 1st SS batallion Totenkopf had to
take on the dug in forces of The_Fur.
The Russians had a t-34
manufacturing plant that had to be overrun. The forces on the german end
were good, consisting of 2 tigers, 2 stugs, 2 heavy mortars, 1 75mm at
gun, and several groups of elite infantry including an mg42 team. The
Russian forces were made up by 2 t-34's, 1 KV1, 4 at guns and groups of
infantry dug in and ambushing from the houses between the Ubermac forces
and the plant.
As Ubermac let slip the dogs of war, it looked quite
positive and the German morale got boosted even further. A Tiger and a
stug made quick work of both an AT gun and a group of infantry. But the
Russians put the KV1 behind those two units and between the houses they
were in, trying to blow up the stug. Ubermac quickly positioned his
Tiger in front of the Stug to take the blows and evantually blew up the
KV1. But all was not well for the Germans, as the Tiger proved to be
immobilised.
As the battle progressed the Germans met with stubborn
resistance from the Russian infantry. Trying to flank that infantry, 1
of the stugs was hit by a t-34 and exploded into a ball of fire. As
Ubermac anticipated that move, the t-34 in it's turn got blown up by the
second tiger that moved up from behind him. But then fate
struck.......the tiger got a hit by an at gun from the side and the crew
had to abandon. With only 1 stug left to support his units, Ubermac had
to make a final rush on the already battered Russian troops. Forward it
went.....troops fighting bravely in an attempt to break the firm lines
The_Fur had put up. But as sneeky as he was clever, The_Fur managed to
flank the German spearhead with a flamer and took out the last of the
German tanks.
Now without support the German troops were doomed. They
made a brave attempt to break the lines......and succeeded, but it was
in vain....they could not stop the last t-34 and so the battle was lost.
Tanks smoking, bodies lying everywhere...both German and Russian. The
Russians managed to defend their valuable assets on this bloody day, but
payed a high price doing so. Ubermac has been pushed back, but
somehow.....this is no reason for celebrations......for one day...... HE
WILL BE BACK!
