When Aaron first moved back to Miami, Mercy Ross, a co-worker at Baptist Health Systems, wanted to set
him up with someone. She gave him Tina's name and extension. After months of seeing the
post-it note sitting in his drawer and wondering if he should call, Aaron finally just threw
it away. Similarly, Mercy, who worked in Administration and was a former colleague
of Tina's, had told Tina there was someone she wanted her to meet. Intrigued, Tina went online
and looked up the Administrative staff on the company intranet.
The only young guy there was the Administrative Fellow, whose name was Aaron Wilkins.
In May 1998, Tina needed to return a software book (that had been in her car for weeks) to an
administrator. She went up to the sixth floor of the Corporate offices and discovered
there was no one at the front desk. After a few moments, Aaron came up from behind and asked
if she needed help. She gave him the book, thanked him and left. Aaron noticed Tina had
placed a thank-you post-it on the book with her name, which he recognized. Two hours later,
he sent her an email and asked her to lunch that Friday. They went to an Italian restaurant and talked as if they were old friends. They got engaged on a trip to Disney World in March.
