Richard Cole "Jake"Jacobs |
4/26/1952-5/7/2002
Jake was born April 26, 1952 and lived most of his life in Goldsboro. He
was the son of Cole Gore Jacobs and Mary Lloyd Stallings Jacobs. Jake
married Lainey Whitener on June 27, 1983. They had two children. Jake was
a beloved husband, father, son and brother.
Jake was a graduate of the North Carolina State University School of
Design and was an independent contractor. He served in the United States
Army and was one of the original members of the Buck Swamp Kicking
Cloggers. Jake was a member of the Intercollegiate Soccer Officials
Association for over 20 years, and was a National Soccer Referee since
1996. He was a High School Referee for over 20 years in the Eastern Plains
Referee Association. He was also a State 1 Referee in the North Carolina
State Referee's Association.
Jake had many friends and always enjoyed being with them. May God bless
his memory in our lives.
We miss you Jake.
