Richie "Whitey" Ashburn was the Phillies Premier Center Fielder Throughout the 50's playing on the Whiz Kids 1950's World Series team.
He finished his Career on Casey Stengles New York Mets. Ironically It was in New York Where Richie Passed Away.
"Whitey" will be sorley missed by Philadelphians who grew up with him as a ballplayer and as the Color Commentator of the Phillies.
Who will ever forget the way he used to answer Harry Kalas' Triva Questions.As well as His OH BOY! Harry "Who was the Greatest Center Fielder in Phillies History?"
