Have fun meeting and networking in the company of enthusiastic flatwater or sea kayaking TK2O members - men and women from beginners to veterans, from teens (18+) to 30-something-ers to seniors.
Enjoy kayak-related social activities such as evening and multi-day paddling trips, pub nights, video nights, perk-you-up club meets (especially through our frozen winter doldrums), camping food cook-n-share smorgasbords, and more...
Develop and enhance paddling skills with both theory and on-the water skill-building courses, plus tip-n-tricks from fellow TK2O paddlers. If you want to build your own boat, paddle, or other equipment, there are club members who could give you pointers.
Be well prepared for trips by trip planning with others - from plotting how to get there to charting paddling routes to cooking up camping food menus to checking safety gear and camping gear needs.
Take advantage of club resources and referrals such as online trip planning guides, trip reports from other members, launch site and campsite locations, water conditions, and (in the future) club equipment and facilities.
Gain maximum satisfaction and value out of your own kayak investment by showing and sharing "technical" features of various kayak sizes, brands and designs - plus all that other necessary (and just plain fun) gear such as floatation devices, paddles, pumps, wet-n-dry suits, PFDs, sails and kites....
Discounts on kayaking courses and workshops. These include, but are not limited to:
Experience more paddling with the camaraderie, enthusiasm and energy of others who, like you, want to fully enjoy kayaking recreation, exercise and fulfilment in the water wonderland of the Ottawa/Outaouais region of Canada great outdoors and beyond.
