Self-defense and prevention against violence training courses The goal of the course is to initiate the participant to the basic self-defense techniques (based on the fundamental movements of Taekwon-do). These techniques will enable the practitioners to defend themselves, to the best of their ability, against various unprovoked assaults. Contents of the different courses Technical aspect : 1) Study of the natural weapons of defense and sensitive points of the human body. 2) Study of evading techniques principles. 3) Study of falls and defense while on the ground. Theoretical aspect : 1) Physical exercise ; an indispensable asset in self-defense. 2) Violence ; a social phenomena. 3) Physical and mental harassement at home and/or in the work environement. 4) Legal aspects. 5) Intervention with victims of violence act. A typical course layout - Theoretical period - Warming-up period - Learning techniques period - Relaxation period - Feedback Mr Richard Lajeunnesse, International instructor Mr. Richard Lajeunnesse has been teaching Taekwon-do and Self-defense since 1979. He graduated in socio-psychological intervention at the Université of Quebec in Montreal. These las few years, he specialised in self-defense training courses for companies.
