His Sword

Trunks recieves his mighty sword in Movie 13, Dragonfist Assault - If Goku Can't do it No-one Can!. Essentially this is a mistake in the continuity but it can be ignored as it  provides a very interesting story. To the right is the Brave Warrior Tapion who gave Trunks his sword. Tapion is an ancient and legendary warrior whose body is host two half of the dangerous monster Hildegarn.  Tapion was given a Holy Sword and a Magical Flute to contain and defeat the monster should he ever manage to escape his body. These tools were first used by himself and his Brother Minoshima to cut the monster in half.  As a further precaution Tapion was trapped inside a magical box and was launched into space. During Movie 13, the magical box is opened and Tapion appears. Trunks immediatly sees Tapion as a brother like figure and spends much of the film bonding with him. However Tapion is a little reluctant and tries to hide away. At the same time his brother has been killed by a Black Priest who manages to gain control of one half of Hildergarn. Tapion can no longer contain the other half and Hildegarn becomes whole and attacks the Earth. Goku eventually defeats Hildegarn with a Dragon Fist (Ryuken) and Tapion manages to travel home in a Ship made by Bulma Before he departs he leaves Trunks his sword as a reminder and notes that Trunks has been like a brother to him. Thus Trunks gets his Holy Sword and puts it to great use against many opponents such as the destruction of Freiza, left.
