Directions
Using the Shih widget is incredibly simple, assuming you have read the rules. Also, a basic summary is provided on the back of the widget, though this document will include a couple of technical notes.

Step
This is pretty straight forward, as one would expect. Click on the piece to move, and then click on the space where you want to move it. If you click on a piece that cannot be moved, you will not see directions below the board. If, after selecting a piece that has a valid move, you click on any space to which the piece may not legally move, the move is cancelled, and it is as if you had never selected the piece.

Spin
This is a little more complicated, but only a little. If you click on a space that you can legally spin, you will receive directions for spinning it; if you click on a space that you cannot spin and that does not contain one of your pieces (which would trigger a Step sequence), you will receive a message explaining that situation. The script detects the x-axis position of each click and uses that to calculate Spins. If you click to the right of where you initially clicked, whether in the same space or another, the space will rotate clockwise. If you click to the left of where you initially clicked, the space will rotate counter-clockwise. Imagine rolling it one way or the other like turning a key in a lock: if you turn counterclockwise, the top moves to the left, and if you turn clockwise, it moves to the right.

You can cancel a Spin move by shift-clicking instead of clicking for the second part of the move.

Power Spin
This is handled just like a Spin except that you must hold down the Shift key while clicking each time. In every other way, this is a Spin with respect to user interaction.

You can cancel a Power Spin move by clicking instead of shift-clicking for the second part of the move.

Each player's name ("Blue" and "Red") will take on its proper color when it is that player's turn, becoming white when it is not that player's turn. Thus, the names will be written in blue and white or in white and red, depending on which is the current player.

Below the player's name is number followed by an icon in the form of his opponent's piece. This represents the number of captures that player has. Below that is the player's current number of MPs for the turn. Below that is the player's number of remaining Power Spins. The "New Game" and "i" buttons should be self-explanatory.
