As usual, so much has happened since I last posted here.  I am a procrastinating writer for sure.  I got all of the certifications and authentications done in time to be DTC on September 21, 2000.  There was one small snafu with my birth certificate.  I had gotten the one from vital check and come to find out it would need to be certified by the county.  Anyway, after lots of phone calls I figured it would just be easier to order a new one from the Austin office that is already certified.  Then after getting that, I sent it right out to be authenticated in Houston.  I had sent the rest of the dossier to Houston the week before.  Receiving the authenticated documents was fun and each form has a document attached that is in Chinese.

So, after receiving all of my documents, I took my dossier to school with me and made copies, copies, copies… okay, I was a little paranoid.  I mailed my dossier by overnight to GWCA on September 13.  I got a call from them the next day saying everything looked great and they mailed it to china on September 15.   About 2 weeks later, I got a letter from them stating that my dossier was registered in China on September 21, 2000.  I’m official!!!  Now for the wait.

I have a possible red thread story… In the early morning hours of October 14, a Saturday, I had a dream.  I dream a lot, and frequently remember several dreams when I wake up in the mornings.  I had woken up that morning around 4:30 and gotten up to check on puppies (Sadie had a litter born September 6) and then gone back to bed.  This is the dream I remember.  I was in an operating room and I was in labor.  Sherry and mom were there on either side of me, holding my hands and helping me.  The doctor is at the end of the table and I am in A LOT of pain.  I remember feeling this acute agony and everyone encouraging me to keep it up.  The baby is finally born.  The doctor checks her out and wraps her in a blanket and comes around and hands her to me.  She is all bundled up in a gray blanket except for her face.  I turn the baby around and look at her face and she has the most beautiful Asian face.  Round cheeks and Asian eyes and I can tell she has hair but not much.  I have had several dreams about the baby but have never been able to see her face!  This dream was so vivid and real.  I was so confused when I woke up and I still felt that joy at seeing her face.  I guess time will tell if this was the day Mykayla was born.
