GIRLS AAU BASKETBALL TEAM

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE 2000

The first event of the season was a trip to High Point, North Carolina for the Hoops and Dreams Tournament. An opening game loss to a strong Piedmont Express team was followed by three straight wins.

The next tournament of the year was the Southeastern AAU East Sub-State. The team opened with a first round victory, but then suffered a single point loss to the defending State Champion Tennessee Prospects. Needing to finish in the top two of the Sub-State to qualify for the State Tournament, the team cruised to three straight victories to earn the qualifying berth.

The next tournament set in stone on the calendar is the State Tournament to be held in Brentwood, Tennessee on June 2-4. Tentatively, the team will compete in scrimmage tournaments in Nashville, TN, and/or Athens, Georgia during the month of May. Another possibly event during May is the Pickering Lady Tiger Classic on May 12-14 in Pickering, Ohio. The AAU Nationals are set for Amarillo, Texas during the week of July 26. The National Invitational Championships is scheduled for Kenner, Lousiana during the week of July 9.
