Yowza! What happened here? In the series, Millerna is a gentle princess of Asturia, but in the movie, she's more like a ninja! This is by far the biggest transition of characters. She is not really a love interest for Allen, more like a side kick. She specializes in knife throwing, very unlike the "pure" Millerna of the Escaflownne series. But a change is good once in a while... |
Allen too has made a drastic change from the series to the movie. He is also more of a ninja, like Millerna, though he is good with the sword, like his series counterpart. Not much is said or known about him through the movie, he never talks about his long lost sister. Also, a big part of the series that never made it's way into the movie was the fact that he never showed any interest whatsoever in Hitomi. As one can see, he looks more... suave in the pic to the far right, similar to his personality. |
Like the other characters, Folken has made a big change. First of all, look at his hair! Secondly, he is the main "bad guy" of the movie. Dornkirk isn't even mentioned. He doesn't tell Van about being his brother until the end. But what I can't get over is the fact that he is just so EVIL in this movie, like he has no conscience, much unlike the Folken of the series. |
Gaddes... there's not much to say about Gaddes. Except for the fact that he sports a totally new set of clothing. Overall, though, his personality remains the same, and he has the same loyalty for Allen that he did in the series. Not much more. Nope. |
Hitomi obviously wears a different set of clothes. Her personality is totally different. She doesn't have a positive outlook on life, but rather a very negative one. The only reason she gets to Gaea is because she wishes she could vanish from the face of the earth! She rapidly falls for Van, too. |
Van is similar to Hitomi, his outlook on life is very negative. He sees war as the only solution to any problem, and thinks nothing of death. As one can see, his wardrobe has totally changed as well. He is a very violent man, and doesn't care for Allen too much, sinilar to the series. |
Dilandau looks pretty much the same. He's only in about 5 or 6 scenes of the movie. But the odd thing is not once is it mentioned that he is the sister of Allen. in this movie, he is his own person. His personality is similar to that of the series, with some minor tweaks. |
Ah Merle. She's not much different, calling Van's name every 4 seconds. But what has changed is her jealousy of Hitomi. She doesn't really mind her that much in the movie. |
