Sage Advise

SAGE ADVISE

As the sage has said:

     To cause harm to others

       Breathe out compassion.
   Release your clinging to aversion.
    Draw in the freedom of unbounded kindness.

The Quest
For years I sought the Many in the One,
I thought to find lost waves and broken rays,
The rainbow's faded colours in the sun--
The dawns and twilights of forgotten days.
But now I seek the One in every form,
Scorning no vision that a dewdrop holds,
The gentle Light that shines behind the storm,
The Dream that many a twilight hour enfolds.

You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it
but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life.
Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.
You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant or stupid.

There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error...experimentation.
The failed experiments are as much a part of the process
as the experiment that ultimately works.

A lesson is repeated until learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson,

Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain lessons.
If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

There is no better than here.
When your there has become a here,
you will simply attain another there
that will, again, look better than here.

Others are merely mirrors of you.
You can not love or hate something about another person
unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

What you make of your life is up to you.
        You have all the tools and resources you need.
What you do with them is up to you.
The choice is yours.

The answers are inside you.
     The answers to life's questions lie inside you.
    All you need to do is Look, Listen and Trust.

Earth Teach Me to Remember
Earth teach me stillness as the grasses are stilled with light.
Earth teach me suffering as old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach me humility as blossoms are humble with beginning.
Earth Teach me caring as the mother who secures her young.
Earth teach me courage as the tree which stands alone.
Earth teach me limitation as the ant which crawls on the ground.
Earth teach me freedom as the eagle which soars in the sky.
Earth teach me resignation as the leaves which die in the fall.
Earth teach me regeneration as the seed which rises in the spring.
Earth teach me to forget myself as melted snow forgets its life.
Earth teach me to remember kindness as dry fields weep in the rain.
