Good vs Average Quality

Ever since I started trading, buying, and selling these stickercards, it has come to my attention that there are 2 types of these stickercards floating around. I personally buy good quality stickercards from my retailer, so I am used to having good quality stickercards, and when I trade or buy and inadvertently get average quality stickercards, I feel as if I'm on the losing side.

That's not to blame my fellow traders and sellers. I understand that not everyone knows there are 2 types of stickercards, nor does everyone know there's a difference. So that is why I've created this webpage to explain the difference.

Good Quality

Good-quality stickercards are slightly larger (width and length) than average-quality stickercards. They measure slightly under 2 6/16 inches width-wise by slightly over 3 6/16 inches length-wise(or 6 cm by 8.65 cm).

The word "SAILORMOON" is complete and centered on the bottom of the card, along with the number inside the black-circle/cresent-moon. Neither the word nor the number are cut off (in other words, neither are incomplete).

The cut of the stickercards is good. They have no lines that show they were cut poorly.

AND there are no obvious flaws on the card. No lines running down the side, etc.

The scans are a little dark and a little crooked (scanner fault) but basically, you can see what I mean.

Average Quality

Average-quality stickercards are slightly smaller (width and length) than good-quality stickercards. They measure slightly under 2 5/16 inches width-wise by slightly under 3 6/16 inches length-wise(or 5.85 cm by 8.60 cm).

They can have either or all of the following flaws:

The word "SAILORMOON" is usually incomplete and not centered on the bottom of the card, along with the number inside the black-circle/cresent-moon. Sometimes the word "SAILORMOON" is missing 1/2 the "N"; sometimes the word is skimming the bottom of the card; sometimes the number circle is close to the edge of the card or slightly cut off. This is the best way to spot an average-quality stickercard: just LOOK at the word and number along the bottom. See the Mercury scan.

The cut of the stickercards is average/poor. Sometimes they have a line on the side (most of the time, it's the left side) that looks like there's another card underneath. But there isn't another card. The machine just didn't do a good job of cutting on the line, so the line shows up. See the Sailor Team scan.

AND sometimes there are obvious flaws on the card. Most often, there is a line running down the side (not like the cut-wrong line, but a line in the picture). See the Mercury scan.

The scans are a little dark and a little crooked (scanner fault) but basically, you can see what I mean.

Flaws: line on right side (located half-inch right of Ami's shoulder); and half the "N" is cut off.

Flaws: white line on left side = poor cut; and half the "N" is cut off too.

SIZE

Does size really matter for these stickercards? Just take a look at these scans for the same number card. As you can see, part of Chibiusa's hairbuns are cut off at the top of the smaller average-quality card (right) unlike the larger good-quality card (left). Not all average-quality cards have pictures that are cut off, but several do.. so that's something to keep in mind.

The colors of the scans DO NOT reflect the colors of the cards themselves. My scanner varies between light and dark, depending on positioning of picture, and for some reason, the good-quality card ended up darker than the average-quality card.
